Thanksgiving Book Round-up

My family LOVES books.  My mom is a first grade teacher so when I was a kid we were always encouraged to read good books.  That love of books has carried over to me as the mom now, and it is so fun to find great books for my kids.  I truly believe reading often to your kids promotes good language, reading, and writing skills.  Both of my kids already love the time we spend sitting and reading … [Read more...]

Happy 13th Birthday Johnny

I can't believe MY BABY is 13!! When did he go and grow up? I swear one day I blinked and he went from being a sweet lil' baby to this amazing kid. I call him my big boy now. He says he's a young man. I refuse to admit it. I just cannot use the word MAN when talking about MY BABY. Sadly, we lost almost all his photos from under age 5 when our home burned down but I was able to find this one … [Read more...]

Baby Einstein Musical Motions Activity Jumper {Review}

Halli has been crawling for about a month now and she is starting to pull herself to stand.  I love this age, she is really curious and wants to explore everything.  This fun stage of exploring makes it hard to get things done without having to run over and keep her from climbing a side table, the ottoman, or trying to get somewhere she shouldn't.  I need to get things done like the dishes, but … [Read more...]

Who is at Risk for RSV? #RSVAwareness #MC

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for MedImmune. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.” When Johnny was born he was always getting sick. He had a compromised immune system and he had to teach his body how to fight all the germs that were around him. The doctors told me he would be fine but he'd likely be sick a lot since he was … [Read more...]

Get Ready for Christmas with Hallmark! {Christmas Holiday Prize Pack}

  I am so excited about Christmas. It's taking everything for me to not start decorating already. I have started cleaning up the house and hiding away gifts in corners and closets. I've started drooling over custom Christmas Cards and and began nagging for my husband to put up the porch lights before the snow comes and he can't. Like last year, sigh. Of course when the holidays roll around one … [Read more...]

We are all familiar with Publishers Clearing House. We all dream of the day we open our door to discover them on the other side with balloons and a big check with our name printed on it. Change Your Clocks, Change Your Batteries! {Energizer Giveaway}

Sometimes it feels like it was a lifetime ago and then I go looking for something and it hits me. My house burned down and we lost everything. Everything I owned previously to 2007 sits in a tub out in the shed. It can't come inside because it reeks of smoke and is damaged. They are photos and scrapbooks from years ago I can't bear to part with but can't really keep either. Since that day I've … [Read more...]

WW – Blueberry Pancakes

Over the weekend we had blueberry pancakes. I made a ton of batter and filled it with the yummy blueberries we picked by the pound over the summer. I laid them out on cookie sheets and placed in the freezer until frozen and firm. Then placed in freezer bags and in my deep freezer. Now I'm just a minute from pancakes (that I KNOW what they are made from) and I don't have to do all the … [Read more...]
