Whole Foods Market has Opened in Boston’s South End

This time last year I was just starting to pay attention to food. Not just the calories, the food groups, etc but the actual food. I started paying less attention to the numbers and started paying more attention to the ingredients and where they came from. Once you start educating yourself on what is really on your plate (or your kids plate!) it's hard to unlearn some things and you realize you … [Read more...]

2014 Annual Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day Road Race

Last weekend was our annual St. Patrick's Day Road Race here in Western MA. Almost 8 thousands runners come to run this race! It's known as one of the hardest ones around since it's on lots of hills. Every year we all go down to our family business that just happens to be located right across from race headquarters to watch the fun and hang out with friends and family. We have multiple … [Read more...]

A Day On The Connecticut River, Massachusetts!

Here in New England we had a TON of rain this spring and early summer which cause the Connecticut River, Massachusetts to flood and become unstable. There was no boating allowed. Between that and a crazy schedule we FINALLY got out on the boat this past weekend. Sawyer thought he was going to get to drive. Here are some fun pictures I took that day! … [Read more...]

Strawberry Picking in North Hadley, Massachusetts

Last weekend my boys and my Dad headed out to North Hadley to where I go and pick strawberries every year. They are fairly well priced ($2.50 a quart or $20 a box) and if you bring a good army to pick you can get lots in a relatively short time. The field is pretty good sized and while this photo is deceiving there was a pretty good sized crowd there picking with us. Since I had to … [Read more...]

The Manhan Bike Trails

I love that we live close to the bike trail. They finished it at the end of last summer and this year we are really putting it to good use! I've been learning how to run on it every night and this weekend we dusted off all the bikes and hit our Manhan Bike Trails. Sawyer was not thrilled with his helmet but it's a must. Isn't he the cutest little thing? I love that all the … [Read more...]

Six Flags New England

I was super bummed out because I had to cancel a trip to NYC for an event over the weekend last minute due to lack of childcare. Being home for the weekend opened up other possibilities for us though. It was the last weekend Six Flags New England was running their season pass specials and I wanted to take full advantage. We haven't been since Johnny was Gavin's age and I wanted to go back but … [Read more...]

St. Patrick’s Day Holyoke Road Race.

Around here St. Patrick's Day is a big deal. We actually have one of the largest parades on the east coast to celebrate it. We spend the day before the parade at the St. Patrick's Day Holyoke Road Race. There were almost 7000 runners this year! It's not all about the runners though. It's basically a huge street party. It's the only day we can walk about with open beverages and not get weird … [Read more...]

The Easthampton, MA Bear Fest with Local Artists

Last Friday my mom took a half day at work so we could all visit the Easthampton, MA Bear Fest. It's the 2nd year for this fun event and it's so much fun to walk around town and check out the bears with the kids together! There are 40 in total so we didn't get to them all but we will go back and finish them all soon!  The Easthampton Bear Fest is a public art project in which 40 life-size … [Read more...]

Wordless Wednesday St. Patty’s Day Road Race!

This past weekend was a big weekend around here. The city hubby works in has a lot of Irish and they don't let St. Patrick's Day go by without a weekend long celebration. In fact they have one of the countries largest parades! Saturday we attended the big road race. It goes right past our auto body so it's great that we have guaranteed good seating :) Thousands and I mean thousands of people … [Read more...]
