For as long as I’ve been a mom I’ve been buying my boys clothing from The Children’s Place. Sure they have great styles but the real reason I love their clothing is the durability. Having boys I can tell you they are rough. We go through clothing like we go through toilet paper in this house. We’ve been able to put holes in jeans in just one weekend.

When it comes time to sort through their closets at the end of each season it’s mainly the Children’s Place clothing that still remains. The clothing can take a beating from my boys and still be good enough to be handed down to the next one. What is great is that the styles are always fashionable but classic so the style doesn’t go out.

I was so disappointed when Johnny outgrew the brand but happy that I have two that still can wear it. Gavin went through all the choices in the store and came back to the matchables tanks and shorts. He was able to pick a couple sets and they will be perfect for the hot summer days. For Sawyer I was able to grab a few sleepers and these cute little shoes.

When it comes time to start putting together all the needs of a baby it can become rather overwhelming, believe me I know. When I found out I was pregnant with Sawyer it was like starting all over again. There were so many options and so many designs. Baby gear had come a long way and there were so many bells and whistles on everything. What happens though when you don’t want to pay $200 on a playpen though? What happened to all those simple versions we had years ago?

So, when I saw the InGenuity Pembrook Smart & Simple Playard and saw that it was available for under $100 and still had the extras I thought it was such a great option!

The playpen has all the essentials and extras!

The diaper changer part is great but it is difficult to remove so it’s not the best option if you plan on moving it back and forth. I’m sure after pulling it on and off for awhile it could get easier too though. Mine was a very secure hold and I needed Hubby’s help to remove it.

I really liked that the base had better options though then the fancy, expensive version I had for Gavin. It had bars but they ran the short way causing them to warp after several weeks of use. I love that they run the long way to properly support the bassinet portion. I also like that but just removing the bars you can easily pack it up without fully taking it apart making it easier to put together next time.

The steps to secure the bassinet portion are far more secure then any playpen I’ve ever used or reviewed! You actually zip the bassinet in!! No hooks or anything that can be easily undone. I love that it goes all the way around. I love that they also looked at the fine details and even made sure the zippers were well covered and secured with velcro.

Then to make sure it’s even more secure it’s secured with buckles all the way around using he life jacket style buckle. It also is covered by material so baby doesn’t discover it.

When you are done just lower the mat dow to the bottom and your left with a great playard still!

What I love is that InGenuity Pembrook Smart & Simple Playard is this well built but sold for only $99.99 through Target! It’s the most affordable playard I’ve since since I’ve been looking and is doesn’t hold out on any of the extras even though it doesn’t charge as much as the rest.

Right now Target actually has it on sale for $84.99!

Babies are expensive. For such little bundles it’s amazing how much they require. One thing I’ve learned through having a few kids is that products that can grow with your child are key. Not only is it cost effective but it helps cut down on the clutter. We all know how much clutter a baby can come with. Since Sawyer was born I feel like our home has shrunk in size because we are always stepping around the baby stuff.

When I was asked to review the Soothe ‘n Groove Mobile by TinyLove I thought it was great how it would work with Sawyer through a much longer time span then your average mobile.

This uniquely-designed musical mobile offers babies a selection of 18 different tunes in 6 separate categories. Babies, and parents too, will certainly enjoy the variety. Once baby is on-the-go, the mobile can be converted into a fun music box that toddlers will love carrying around.

The mobile was super easy to set up. The mobile just snaps together requiring no additional tools. To attach it to the crib you just twirl a plastic cap and it is secured to the crib. It’s super simple to use and best part is it’s battery operated! Sawyer just loves his mobiles but the one that matches his crib set gives me just enough time to run to the bathroom and back before he starts crying because it’s stopped.

The Soothe ‘n Groove Mobile runs on batteries meaning no running back to the crib! I can set it and take my time and actually get something done without worrying about circling back. I love that as he gets older he’ll be able to hit it on his own to reset it. Although I’m thinking that 40 minutes of continuous non-repetitive music is enough for them to relax and fall asleep too.

This mobile isn’t something I would have purchased as I’m one for the matching crib set mobile but it’s one that should be bought instead. You’ll be able to use it so much longer and it you think about how long your baby stays in a bassinet chances are by the time baby moves to the crib the old mobile is a hazard and has to come down.

The only thing I think could make the Soothe ‘n Groove Mobile any better is flashy lights. It’s one thing that gets Sawyer’s attention and keeps it. The music is soothing but I’d love to see lights. Regardless, with or without lights the Soothe ‘n Groove Mobile is a sure bet to get lots of use and give you more time to get a few things done.

I feel like I’ve been using diapers for ever and every time I get a child completely independent back I go having another baby.
