I think I start every post these days with I love summer. It’s true, I do. I love the heat, the sun, the kids being home, all of it. Well, all of it except grilling time. Burgers and dogs use to be a staple around here but I’m not a big burger fan at all and hot dogs were, well, getting gross. When I got more focused on losing weight hot dogs were one of the first foods to go. Grilling time began to stink though. I always had something that took considerable longer than every one elses. I missed just being able to throw a hot dog on the grill and having it done a few minutes later.
I was asked to give Applegate Naturals Beef Hot Dogs a try recently and jumped at the opportunity. I’ve actually heard great things about them and know they are well liked by several people I know but somehow never gave them a try. We’ve actually made a permanent switch on hot dogs here. The taste is a huge difference. My husband really doesn’t pay any attention to organic, GMO, and all that lingo but the taste alone is worth it. Sawyer has refused every hot dog up until trying Applegate hot dogs, now he gobbles them up. I am happy to finally have a quick, good choice. A choice I can feel good about too.

I’ve heard great things about Applegate and have looked for them (with no luck, but haven’t been able to venture out too far yet lol) since you mentioned them on Facebook last week! My kids love hot dogs, but I hate what they are made of (not to mention, I just don’t like the taste of them). I’d love to try them to see how they taste but even if still don’t like hot dogs, I’d feel good about giving them to my kids

I have never tried the Applegate hotdogs before. i usually don’t like eating hotdogs because they have a really bad taste. i like that they are made from all natural meat, are GMO free, and they do not contain fillers.
Having kids that enjoy foods like hotdogs, I love Applegate because it is a good product for them to eat. Made with better ingredients than the other brands.

Chronic illness has had me looking at better, cleaner, organic foods for our family. Plus, having lil’ grandkids also makes you think of ALL the junk that is now available,…even far more than was there for my older kids. With more auto immune diseases and food intolerances and downright fatal food allergies, it is imperative to rethink the whole eating issue.

I’ve been a fan of Applegate for years. They taste better then hot dogs that are less healthy AND they are a healthier choice.
I made the change late last year. It’s amazing what you’ll put into your own body without a thought, but once you have kids you become a label reading master to find out exactly what is going into your kid’s body.

I buy meats with NO nitrates and these fit the bill. Not to mention they are delicious! I tell everyone to switch to nitrate free, but so many won’t listen. It is sad.

I tried these hotdog and they are great. They have a bit of a smokey flavor which I liked. We’ve been buying Applegate pepperoni for a while now; my daughter loves it. I’ve gone to this brand because they use better ingredients and don’t have all the extra preservatives.

OMG Applegate HD’s are so awesome, we love them! My 3 year old daughter who is skinny as a rail can eat like 4 of them every single time we have them. SHE ABSOLUTELY LOVES THEM!!!!!! Thank goodness they are all Beef, all organic, lower in fat and sodium and the taste WOW – they taste so MUCH better than every other hot dog out there – what a difference! So worth it! YUM YUM! I wish every store carried them. Wegman’s has them. BJ’s has them. I wish Costco carried them too, but they don’t have them as of July 2014 – but I’m hoping soon!

We used to be big hot dog eaters. Then, at some point, I realized how ridiculously bad they are for me and my family. As my kids were growing, nutrition became more of a priority and I got pickier about what I fed them. I swear we haven’t had hot dogs in 5 years!
