It has been really fun seeing the major differences between my two kiddos. They have such different personalities and temperaments. Hayden has always been so easy going, and getting him to sleep through the night was a piece of cake. My sweet and oh so sassy baby girl Halli is an entirely different story. She is a very needy baby, and good grief does that girl have an opinion. She is also very, very stubborn. Getting her to sleep at all has been a roller coaster ride. She will sleep great for a few days only waking up once, and then the next 2 weeks she will wake up 3 times a night to nurse. I. Am. Tired. So so tired. I keep telling myself it won’t last forever. She won’t always cry out for me in the middle of the night. We won’t always have those quiet moments where she just wants to nurse. She won’t always be tiny and let me snuggle and rock her. BUT, I also don’t want to make terrible sleep habits.
When I was pregnant we bought the same old, standard audio monitor similar to the one I used when Hayden was a baby. I quickly realized that she didn’t easily settle herself to sleep like her brother did. I would hear her squealing and I couldn’t always tell if it was her playing or if she really did need me. The girl has an amazing fake cry already and uses it against me. She turns me to putty instantly. But I need some kind of sleep! We would have to do some phases of letting her fuss and cry by herself. A video monitor turned into a must have!
Summer Infant had the perfect video monitor for us. I instantly fell in love with it and it has been so helpful. The Baby Touch® 2 Digital Color Video Monitor is just what I needed to see what was going on in her room, and see when she really did need me. The high resolution 3.5″ color video screen gives a really great clear picture at night and during the day. I can easily tell when she is rolling around playing, laying down whining for me to come get her, or if a miracle is happening and she is sleeping soundly.
It is also so easy to use. The touchscreen gives me all sorts of great options. I can move the camera in her room up and down, or left and right. I was really pleasantly surprised that it had such a wide range of motion. From the touch screen I can also zoom in and turn on the night light function. The screen also tells me the temperature in her room. She is a hot sleeper so it is really nice to know if she is fussing because she may be too hot. The two-way communication to talk to her will be a great feature for when she is older. Right now it just makes her mad that I have told her I’ll be right there or if I try to calm her down.
The re-charge docking base is magnetic and the handset clicks right in. If it isn’t in the charging base, the handset has a built in belt clip and kick stand that allows it to sit on the counter.
I can turn the video on and off easily to save the battery and I can also adjust the brightness level. It has a great battery life and has a 600 ft range. It has never indicated we were out of range. We have always got a clear, crisp picture and sound.
We have it set up in her room on a wall shelf right across from her bed. But wall-mounting hardware is included if we ever need to move things around. I know I will always be able to position it where I need to and have a good view of her.
I have been so impressed with the Summer Infant Baby Touch® 2 Digital Color Video Monitor. It is my saving grace! I have been able to be a better mom because I can tell exactly what little Miss Sassy Halli is doing in her crib. If you are looking for a video monitor look no further, this is the one for you and your littles.
I have two new grandbabies coming soon,an this would be perfect
This is a great monitor!
wow so many awesome features and love the recharging stand, the camera tilts, 2 way communication this is just awesome!
This is a great monitor! It even lets you communicate with the baby and check the temp, that is great! I would love this, hopefully the new baby i train to sleep in his own bed and no more co-sharing because our bed is packed!
BTW i would gaze at those baby blues all day! LOL
What a clear picture! And I really like the temperature sensor, as that’s not always something we think about when soothing a fussy baby.
