When it comes to weight loss I get so frustrated.
Frustrated when the scale isn’t moving.
Frustrated when I’m not fitting in my fat clothes but not fitting in the smaller size yet either.
Frustrated with the weather because when it rains it means I can’t hit the trails.
Frustrated because I’m still looking at the fat girl in the mirror.
Frustrated when no one notices how hard I’m working.
Frustrated when people try to stop me from achieving my goal.
Frustrated when I don’t prioritize my time properly to work out the way I had hoped that day.
Frustrated when my family insists on ordering food like Domino’s.
Frustrated because I ended up with shin splits.
Then I remember why I’m doing this.
Because eventually the scale does move.
Because eventually I’ll be able to put on clothes I haven’t been able to wear for years.
Because the sun eventually comes out and because my DVD player always works.
Because one day I won’t be a fat girl anymore.
Because I know how hard I’m working.
Because I know I won’t let anyone stand in my way.
Because it’s a learning process and if it’s important it will get prioritized.
Because I have the power to say no and eat healthy.
Because this means in the long term I’ll be healthier.
Because I want my kids to grow up with a healthy mom. A mom that gets out and does things. I want to feel comfortable in my own skin. I want the outside to reflect on who I am on the inside. I want to feel the wind on my face, not the guilt from eating til I couldn’t move.
There will always be something or someone standing in the way but if it’s important you’ll find a way to make it happen. Not every day will be your best and not every time you step on the scale will it go down. If you are determined then you’ll reach your goal. So go ahead and be frustrated. Just remember that if you work hard there will be results. So far I’ve proved that with my 18 pound loss and I’m still not done!
It is okay to be frustrated, because like you said it will all pay off. Do you have a Wii? I highly recommend dancing to Just Dance games for half hour. When I was weighing 160 I was burning 400 calories or more in 30-40 minutes of dancing. I still dance numerous times a week as it gets my heart rate going. You are doing awesome, congrats on the 18 lbs weight loss!
You are doing great. I love seeing your instagram pictures where you are out with the kids being active together! Keep it up
You are doing great Jenn! Much love to you mama!!
You are doing amazing!! I love hearing about your progress, I love seeing what you are up to. You are inspiring. I’ve managed to stay on track with eating but I can’t wait to get back to running and working out. The kids get out of school next week and I am thinking of attempting a bike ride to see how that feels. (I’ve been very frustrated now being able to run… or even walk much)
You are a fabulous mom, a terrific friend, and an incredible person.
I am so proud of how hard you are working at your weight loss. I know your kids see the effort and the healthy way you are eating and are proud of you, too.
HUGGLES!
You’re doing amazing! I have gotten side-tracked with M’s health but I really need to stick to it like you – go mama!!
You go girl! Having a good attitude and determination is the big battle. You can do it and you are doing great!
YOU GO GIRL!!!!
Oh I know how you feel but each day i get up saying to myself….I’m like the little engine that could…choo choo but one day that little engine will make it and I will conger this weight. You will do it, just take one day at a time. Great post I had to stop by.
Just because the scale doesn’t show it doesn’t mean anything you are building muscle. I remember how bad you felt after giving birth about you weight. But you’ve really motivated me!! I love following your journey, seeing your healthy meal pics on instagram and watching u exercise keep it up! Ur great
It always gets better.
Awesome job, Jennifer! 18 pounds is nothing to scoff at!!
You rock girl! You got the good mindset! Don’t let frustrations get in the way of what you will be achieving!
Keep up the good work Jennifer!
You are doing great. Definitely don’t give up. I swear I see a difference in your face.
You are doing AWESOME! Don’t let those frustrations pull you down! It’s ok for people not to notice – you aren’t doing it for THEM, you are doing it for YOU!
I have found when the scale isn’t moving it’s usually because I’m either eating too much – or amazingly too little! I pretty much have to keep a food log now. I get frustrated too but mine lately has been because I’m trying a difficult and challenging program (Couch-to-5K) that really has me pushing my limits. Thankfully I have friends and family that are very supportive. I’ve also found good “friends” on SparkPeople and FitBit.com that cheer me on.
Congratulations on the weight loss and keep it up!! I completely understand all of those feelings as with my first pregnancy I gained a lot of weight and it never went anywhere. I slowly started losing some and the got pregnant again. And, although, pregnanices and these adorable little babies in my life are completely worth it I am ready to feel comfortable in my own skin. Here’s to all of us who are constantly pushing and refusing to stay down!
I feel for you! I go through the same thing. I get so frustrated because I know I can do this, but then as soon as I get started I have family get togethers full of food I shouldn’t have, or no time to eat healthy and so I resort to something quick. Keep going!!!!! I’m starting on my weight loss journey again tomorrow!
