It’s Time to Go Dress Shopping.

My weightloss journey doesn’t really have an end date but I have been hanging onto a goal date. Our good friends are tying the knot on September 7th and I’ve been both excited and dreading this date because it means dress shopping. It’s been a few years since any of our friends have gotten married and I have been out of the dress shopping world for quite some time. It’s also part of the reason I’m so excited to do it too.

Long Dresses from DressFit

I’m going shopping with an old friend just two days before the wedding to look and now I’m wondering why I waited so long. What if I don’t see anything I like or that doesn’t fit. It’s not like we’re in high school shopping for homecoming dresses but I still want to look fabulous. When I was younger I always went for the long evening dresses. I loved how elegant they looked and I especially loved that they covered my psoriasis covered legs.

Short Dresses from DressFit

I always loved the look of shorter dresses and now that my skin is clearing up and a shorter dress is more wedding appropriate I want something fun and flirty. Something that I can feel good in but still be modest in as well. I’m really hoping to find just the right dress and I really wish I had spent more time online looking around. I found this Knee-Length Chiffon dress on DressFirst and love the entire design. I love the halter top that promises me nothing will be falling out. The just past my knee length with the twirlable skirt seems not only fun but forgiving on my still curvy features. Same with the long cinched waist. It is available in almost 30 different colors too.

When’s the last time you got all dressed up? Any pointers on helping me find a good fit to my still changing body?

  1. I haven’t dressed up since my wedding.. 10 years ago. But my 30th birthday is in a month and I want to dress up!

  2. I love the look of the long dresses, but I’m usually too short for them….even in heels! So I usually go for the shorter styles. I really like the one-shoulder dress and the dress featured on the bottom. πŸ™‚

That dress is super cute – I ‘d get it too if I needed one like that.
    It’s so “floaty!”

  4. The halter is fabulous! Such a figure-flattering cut. I think you’re doing everything right with this one. I love the buttery yellow, but I think I’d like it in any color!

  5. I’m so excited for you, you look fabulous! I love the knee-length dress for sure!

I think the one you picked out (the last one) is perfect!!! Get a few color choices and see which one looks best on you πŸ™‚

  7. I actually love that dress too – and while I love the color I am so pale so thankfully it comes in SO many other options πŸ™‚

I love the dress you picked – Last time I bought dresses when I lost weight my friend encouraged me to do something more form fitting. I was nervous, but my husband loved it!

My best advice is always that you find a dress you can MOVE in. Nothing is worse than a fancy dress you can’t dance in!

    That’s a super cute dress!

  11. MaryAnn says

I haven’t worn a dress since my wedding. I probably would have waited last minute as well knowing me.

  12. Shayna says

I love dresses but I hardly wear them because I don’t really go anywhere fancy anymore..
