I’m not a big drinker. However, in the summer I find that on the weekends it’s actually nice to put my feet up at the end of a long, hard, hot week and enjoy a nice chilled glass of wine. There’s something about taking a moment when the kids are in bed (or better yet a sitter!) and you have a small fire going in the backyard. Just sitting back and putting your feet up and either regrouping with your spouse or reconnecting with friends.
I’ve never been savvy when it comes to wine and I often don’t know what goes well with what and what is good that is affordable so I was really excited about getting to try Refresh by Turning Leaf. When it came in I had a full bottle of the Crisp White and the Red Moscato to test out.

We decided to take them out together and compare the two at the same time. We chilled out wine ahead of time in the fridge and also used the cute little plastic cups and reusable ice cubes included in the kit. I’m not much of a red wine drinker. Okay, I don’t drink red wine period as I really do not like the taste. White wine is more my style so it was good to have the opinion of someone else too. Funny thing is I liked this red wine so I wonder if it’s the warm of the red I don’t like.

I claimed the Crisp White immediately knowing it would be my drink of choice for the night and I was glad I did. When we poured it we were pleasantly surprised by it fizzing when it hit the ice cubes. It was sweeter then I expected too and I loved it! It’s really a summer wine in so many ways.

I love that this great flavor is perfect for any Friday night plan or well any typical meal in my house. I do a lot of salad and a lot of chicken. I will definitely be choosing this wine again in the future as well as giving it as my host gift when we get invited to dinner at friends homes. It’s great too because you don’t have to worry if your host has a cork screw as this wine simply twists open! No tools required!
As you know we’ve done lots of fresh berry picking lately and my latest berries filing my fridge are blueberries! I have them in the freezer but the bag full too! I thought it would be great to toss a few in. You could easily use frozen blueberries to keep it chilled instead of ice cubes too! Really any frozen fruit would work with this flavor in my opinion.

I love a glass of wine after a long day.
