I never liked dogs. Crazy, right? When we talked about getting a family dog I was dead set against it. I liked our pet free home and I was a cat lover. When I realized the idea of getting a dog wasn’t going away I figured I might as well get involved so I could at least control the breed. Since Hubby was allergic and I didn’t want a dog that shedded or slobbered it really helped us narrow down the options. In the end I really wanted a little yorkie.
We brought home Charlie, our Morkie.
… and a month later we brought home a baby. We’re crazy, I know! After his first grooming we lost all our dark fur and his maltese colors are now more dominant then his yorkie ones but we love him and can’t imagine him not being a part of our family and just celebrated his first birthday last week!
Charlie has somehow managed to become my dog more than anyone’s and everyone who knows me finds it rather funny to see me so attached to a dog but I can’t help it. Charlie keeps me company all day long. When I’m upset or sad he seems to know and stay even closer. He’s the best friend with a hug.
He loves the baby but it’s the one person in the house he gets super jealous over. You can’t play with Sawyer without having Charlie right there in between. He knows he’s not the only baby in the house.
Cesar believes that a relationship with a dog can truly improve every life, including people in need. Dogs are capable of lowering stress, anxiety and even blood pressure. Don’t you agree? I know that when I’m upset and Charlie comes running at me wanting some love I can’t help but smile. Having him there just makes me feel better.
Cesar created the Share a Story and Share the Love initiative, a social media campaign to help support and spotlight therapy dog organizations, to ensure people in need continue to receive the powerful benefits of a dogs unconditional love.
The Share a Story and Share the Love campaign encourages dog lovers to share the heartwarming stories of therapy dogs through their social media communities such as Facebook and Twitter. In return, Cesar will share the love with three therapy dog organizations through donations that help continue the services they provide to people in need.
So what’s your dogs story? Share yours and help Cesar with their donation so they can help more people with their therapy dogs!!! Make sure to follow Cesar on Facebook so you can all their updates and follow this campaign too!
I wrote this review while participating in an ambassador program by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Cesar and received product samples and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
Your dog is very cute. We got two puppies a few months ago because we couldn’t agree on just one. I have a Collie/Laika mix and a Hound. We already had a cat, and I’m still very much a cat person. However, we love our puppies. 🙂
I always felt darn right guilty about our dogs when I was a kid. I loved them; they loved me. My allergies on the other hand hated them. My poor father who loved those dogs had no choice, but to give them away to good owners. I just kept getting sick. My mom did everything right, she breastfed me, they had dogs since I was a baby. In the end allergies and genetics won. So sorry dad and doggies!
Charlie is adorable….as is Sawyer. I still miss my dog named Root Beer that my husband gave me. He has been gone almost 8 years now.
Oh I love the name Root Beer!
