The #HooverInsiders at the 2011 Housewares Show in Chicago!

Last year I was asked to do a review with Hoover. I hadn’t previously really used any of their vacuums before but knew about their rug cleaning systems. So not knowing what would work best for my I decided to visit Hoover’s Facebook Page and left a comment asking which vacuum would be a great fit for me. I wrote that I needed a good vacuum to help with the everyday messes my kids made. Example, the cereal that constantly falls on the floor every morning. I didn’t however want another huge, heavy vacuum that I had to lug out every time. They recommended the Hoover LiNX Cordless Stick Vac and man, they were right. This was the perfect fit for me and I can’t imagine not having it now. It’s pretty enough to leave out and is effective at picking up everything I need it to! Even those feisty rice krispies its competitor vacuum left behind and cost 4x more!

Hoover and Talk To Current PR invited eleven of us to join them and be exclusive Insiders! Well, ten of us are Hoover Insiders and Tara is a Dirt Devil Insider. You would have never known we were separate though. We were all welcomed greatly by both companies. The first night there they invited us all out to eat so we could all meet and interact. The people from Hoover, Dirt Devil, and Current PR were so nice!

The first day there we got to spend some time in downtown Chicago and had a couple hours of free time. Piera from Jolly Mom and I went and had coffee together and then did some shopping. Of course we wondered how we’d fit all the goodies we got at the Disney store in our luggage.

Then bright and early we were up and on a bus to head on over to the International Home + Housewares Show. After getting our badges and visiting the press room (which I was actually refused, so I had to wait while the other bloggers got their info. Yes, IHA told me that Mom Spotted didn’t count as a media site!) we headed to the expo floors! This wasn’t my first expo so I knew what I was walking into.

The Hoover and Dirt Devil booths were private booths that you needed permission to enter. This isn’t an uncommon practice. Many companies do this because there are products that have yet to be announced. Both companies had great set ups with their products beautifully displayed. The first product we saw was the Hoover® WindTunnel® MAX™ Multi-Cyclonic Bagless Upright!

Multi-Cyclonic Powerhouse Clean: The new Hoover WindTunnel® MAX™ Multi-Cyclonic Bagless Upright is amped up with the maximum features to help maxed out consumers. WindTunnel MAX Technology offers three channels of suction by picking up lots of dirt with less scatter. Meanwhile, 12 cyclones filter dirt particles before they reach the rinsable filter, allowing homeowners to clean filters less often. Cleaners can tackle more without re-plugging thanks to the 28-foot cord, which automatically rewinds in seconds at the touch of a button. At less than 19 pounds and with 18-feet of total above-the-floor cleaning reach, this new upright takes it to the Max!

See, what I got to learn was more valuable then the technicals of vacuums because truthfully us moms aren’t often into the specs. We want something that doesn’t weigh a lot, is functional, and doesn’t spit dirt back at us. Hoover listens to us! They give us vacuums that can handle it all. They have all the extras we need for the different uses but they go farther then that. They make their vacuums incredibly light. This makes it so much easier to bring all over your house. They make their vacuums with extra long cords and extra long hoses! You won’t need to worry about stopping in the middle of a project to find a new plug that’s closer but even better you won’t have to worry about picking that vacuum up for higher projects like cathedral ceilings and staircases because they make their hoses longer.

They also think of other things like retractable cords. This should be a standard thing on all vacuums if you ask me. If you come to my house I’ll be honest the cord to my big vacuum is always out or thrown over the top of it because no one wants to wind it up. If you own a Hoover vacuum chances are all you have to do is push a button! They also make several vacuums that can lay all the way down! No more will you be scratching your head on how to get under that bed of yours.

It gets better then that though! Did you know that not a single one of their upright vacuums costs over $300! Most brands don’t even have prices starting that low! The average vacuum is around $100-$150 and they have options above and below that price point too! I love a company that has a great product but doesn’t feel the need to over price their products just because.

In my life I’ve heard about the Hoover Carpet Cleaners. My sister in law got one of these for Christmas when Hubby and I first started dating years ago and that thing has been passed around the entire family and keeps on kicking almost a decade later. If you’re looking for a good, affordable carpet cleaner you need to check out Hoover!

MaxExtract® Clean for Carpets and Hard Surfaces: The new Hoover MaxExtract family of deep cleaners includes the Hoover MaxExtract 77 Multi-Surface Pro™ Carpet and Hard Floor Cleaner and the Hoover MaxExtract 60 PressurePro™ Carpet Deep Cleaner. The Multi-Surface Pro is designed to clean a variety of surfaces from carpets to couches and sealed wood floors to tiled floors while the PressurePro is ideal for carpet cleaning. Each machine removes water, dirt and grime and the DualV® Nozzle Technology provides even suction from edge to edge and a fast dry time. Patented Hoover SpinScrub® brushes clean all sides of carpet fibers and the automatic detergent system provides the right ratio of detergent and water for the best cleaning results.

New to the scene with Hoover is an entire line of Steam Cleaners! I am so excited about this! I have really been struggling to find a steam cleaner I like. I own one now and don’t use it because it leaves puddles all over my house. This won’t happen with Hoover Steam Cleaners because they deliver just that- STEAM.

Wanna know what makes Hoover steamers different from everyone else’s? You can clean with steam alone OR you can add a disinfectant to sanitize too. They have separate buckets so you have the option at all times on whether you want plain steam or a cleaner too.

I’m really excited about their hand held steamer. I’ve heard how these can really get a good clean in your kitchen and this is one product I am super excited to test out soon!

A Superior Clean with Hoover Steam™: The new Hoover Enhanced Clean™ Disinfecting Steam Cleaners are designed to clean and disinfect your entire home, yet conveniently remove everyday dirt and grime. Unlike competitors that rely only on steam, the Hoover steam cleaners, when used with the hospital-grade Multi-Purpose Disinfectant, TRULY disinfect* and sanitize up to 99.9 percent of germs and bacteria on hard surfaces. The line includes a disinfecting handheld steam cleaner, a disinfecting steam mop and a disinfecting canister steam cleaner.

Once we walked through and got to see all the great Hoover products we were able to see everything Dirt Devil had.

Of course we know all about the extensive line of upright vacuums, hand held vacuums and more. Don’t they look lovely all together like this?

What I am super excited about is this spring they will be releasing a new pressure washer system.Hubby and I have been looking into purchasing a pressure washer and when we heard about all these beauties can do and that all of them are affordable it was clear we needed to hold off on buying one. I’ve seen others and while I’m sure they aren’t all that complicated to figure out just the appearance of others got me nervous. Not Dirt Devil. They look easy to figure out and durable for everything I throw at it. Some of them even have a shop vac built into them! How impressive!

Pressure Washer Power: Taking the brand beyond floor care, the PressureFlex™ 2-in-1 offers dual functionality by combining a Pressure Washer and an onboard Wet/Dry Vac for indoor or outdoor projects so while one person is washing off the tires, the other person can be vacuuming off the car mats. The 2-in-1 is part of the new line of Pressure Washers with features including a convenient ON/OFF switch, an electric rotary aluminum pump and auto reset motor protection for safe, simple, and reliable operation.

I am super excited to be one of the Hoover Insiders and can’t wait to share with you all the news and updates over the next year. I really feel that people over look how incredible Hoover is and need to really stop and check out their products. You won’ break the bank and in return you’ll get a great product that is both durable and long lasting. Plus, they made sure that if it’s left out it’s pretty to look at too!

Thank you to Current PR, Hoover, and Dirt Devil for showing us a great time and sharing with us all the wonderful products you have!

Mom Spotted Review Policy: I was provided with a complimentary trip to Chicago to attend the Housewares Show and learn about their products. The opinions I have given are mine and may differ from others but it was not influenced in any manner by monetary means. As a Hoover Insider I will also be provided with products at no cost.
