As you all know I recently attended the Wilton Mom ReTreat with seven other Mom Bloggers and we got our first real taste at how much work it is to make a beautiful cake. Taking a cake course was always on one of my to-do lists but I had always thought it was expensive. Believe it or not it costs less then $50 for four classes! Completely reasonable!

Wilton recently re-evaluated all their classes. One thing I really learned about my trip there was that Wilton REALLY cares about their customers. They want to make sure that if something isn’t working for you they can rectify it and make it easier. So when they got feedback on their classes they changed them up and took all the advice they received from their students! Isn’t that great!

If you’ve never taken any of their courses before you’ll want to start off with their Decorating Basics Course. We left having all the training this set of classes offer! The hands on training is great! Having a qualified instructor in the class is great because you get so much one on one time! You’ll walk away from the Decorating Basics Course with so much knowledge!
My favorite was learning how to cut a cake and half and the trick to fillings! By lining the cake with a thin line of frosting will act as a glue and keep your frosting from oozing out. Did you know one pudding cup is the perfect amount for a filling!

You’ll learn all about how to put a smooth frosting layer on a cake and how to die your frosting to the coloring you want. You’ll learn how to take your own pattern on a cake and transfer it with piping gel. You’ll go home with a cake like mine! I never thought I could make something like this!

You’ll learn how to do all these cool tricks by the time you finish the first course!

We only had a sneak peek into the other courses! I just signed up for the Flowers & Cake Design Course. I can’t wait to learn how to make a true rose! We learned these flowers and they are so pretty!

I also always thought Gum Paste & Fondant looked pretty but would be incredibly difficult to work with. I can’t wait to take this course. I found out that fondant isn’t difficult it’s just the opposite! Incredibly forgiving!

I couldn’t wait to get back home and sign up for the next class. Wilton sent us girls home with everything we’d need for the other two courses so I already had everything I needed. I was so excited when I walked into Michael’s and saw this in the store! I grabbed one of the fliers in the top right corner and found out that all the classes are 50% off right now!
