I recently was telling my hubby that the scrubby strip was worn and they had come out with a new model that I was dying to purchase. I have a closet filled with the solution refills that I stock up on so I was concerned about whether or not they’d fit the new models.
So, I was extremely happy when the very next day My Blog Spark contacted me and asked if I’d be interested in testing out the new model of the Swiffer Wetjet and giving my opinions on it. Of course i jumped at the opportunity running to my husband immediately after. Needless to say he didn’t share the same excitement I did haha!
When this HUGE box was delivered that stated “For Your Eyes Only” on it the kids and I were immediately interested. When we opened it up and found a huge black briefcase style box we were even more mystified. But what we opened was brilliant. We found it so entertaining I thought I would share it with you! Please don’t laugh this is my first ever “vlog”:
As you can see they put a lot of thought and effort into this review and we truly enjoyed it!
So what do I think?
AS previously stated I was already a BIG fan of the Swiffer Wetjet. I trust it on all of our brand new hardwood floors and all of our tile floors as well! Of course there are times when a good old hands & knees scrubbing is required- but rarely.
The first thing that caught my eye was that the scrubby strip was removable! This is a great feature! It is also now located on the front of the mop versus the side. Its larger in size too! I like that it can be replaced as I often find myself using it to lift up dried yogurt under my 3 year old’s seat. It works on anything 99.9% of the time on anything that’s had a chance to dry up!
I like that I can purchase 4 scrubby strips for just $2.49! Considering I use them a lot and its lasted well over a year that’s a great price. Although I haven’t had a chance to test out the full longevity of the new strips, but hopefully they have the same great lifespan!
The answer: YES!
The new refills are large but the neck of the older model is low enough to fit the neck of the new refill in it! On the new model the “bowl” that you put it into it large so the old refills just leave a little space on the sides but still fit. I also like that they changed the way you “pop” out the refills. Its now a clever little button at the top that takes absolutely no effort. The older model sometimes stuck making it harder to get out.
- Wood Floor Cleaner
- Multi Purpose Cleaner
- Multi Purpose Cleaner with Febreeze- Lavender & Vanilla Comfort Scent
- Antibacterial Cleaner with Febreeze- Citrus & Light Scent
They do however have this warning on their site:
*DO NOT USE Swiffer WetJet on unfinished, oiled or waxed wooden boards, non-sealed tiles, or carpeted floors
A few other things I like about the new model I’d like to share with you are that they still have a hook at the end of the handle for you to easily hang it up for storage when it’s not being used. Its not a little metal ring anymore, now its built right into the handle. There are also TWO sprayers coming out so you can cover more area easier and faster! The handle has a better comfort style grip that fits into your hand easier too!
In the end I guess the questions are:
Do I think the Swiffer Wetjet is a good mop? Yes!
Do I think the new model is better then the older one? Yes!
I just signed up for them too!
The swiffer wet jet is great, i have hardwood floors in my kitchen and its perfect for that, but whats great about it is its cheap.
Ahhhh! A mom after my own heart! Swiffering is a verb for me. Loved your review!
Glad I found this! Have an old one that’s broke and have old bottles left to use. I am assuming the pads haven’t changed.
