Who are you?
Barbara Moore, jewelry and jazz junkie! I’ve been making jewelry since high school, when my art teacher put a saw, hammer and metal in my hands. I’ve been listening to jazz since before I was born.

How long have you been selling on Etsy?
I opened my shop in 2008.

What made you decide to open your shop?

I had been selling my jewelry wholesale for many years, and retail locally in a small gift shop that I run with handcrafted gifts. I found out about Etsy and thought it would be a wonderful place to sell.

How did you decide on your shop name?
Capital City Craft Studio is the name of my local shop, I just decided to use the shorter version.

What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
I like all of my items, I wouldn’t list anything that I am not pleased about. Right now, I would choose the Turquoise Plateau ring, http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=23780657.
Transformation is part of the allure of metal smithing. The casting started as something much different.

What are some of your favorite stores form other sellers on Etsy?
The real allure of Etsy to me is the community. I belong to 2 really wonderful teams, EtsyNJ team , and the JET ( Jewelry on Etsy) team. We give each other a lot of help and support. There are so many great shops! One of my favorite finds right now are fused glass pendants because they have fabulous colors and an aura of mystery. Combustionglassworks and Emotional Oasis are just 2 of my wonderful teammates. You can search the tags “jetteam” and “etsynj team” to find all the great creations from these teams.
