Autumn in New England

There are definitely times when I am not a fan to be living in New England. I cannot stand standing outside at 10 below scrapping ice off my windshield while standing knee-high in snow. However, the fall season is beautiful. People are known to take vacations here just to see the leaves change color. When I was younger I lived in Cummington a small country town in the Berkshires of Western, MA. I remember coming home and going down this one mountain and as you took the turn you got this amazing view of about 7 mountains coming together. Each one seemed to have its own shade of color. Fall foliage is definitely worth taking an extra moment to stop and look at.
And, who can forget PUMPKINS! Every year my family goes out and gets or picks pumpkins. These picks are from our last years adventure. Can you believe my oldest son 6 at the time carved all but the smallest one!
Too bad we got a heat wave the first week of October and these beautiful pumpkins turned into mush. I can’t wait to see what this years pumpkins will look like!

Fall is my favorite time of year!! I love those pictures! We moved from the Midwest to Southern California and the biggest thing I miss is seeing the trees turn beautiful colors.

Uh! LUCKY!! And I’m stuck here in Bakersfield, CA! hahahahaha! I mean, I love Bakersfield, but we have NO scenery…unless you count the oil fields! lol

    Great post!

I too fare from New England, grew up on Cape Cod in a very tiny town filled with relatives, and everyone knew everyone. I miss everything about NE. Took a trip down the Maine coast a couple of years ago w/DH and Wordless Wednesday was everyday. Have actually discussed moving to the northern coastal area.

This is Florida, but we have sensed the fall twice in the past two days. Not much of a temp change here though until or after Halloween.

I have to agree, there are days when living in the north east is tough – like most days when you can see your breath. But the views, the foliage, the mountains…

    Thanks for participating

I’m so jealous, I’ve never seen leaves like that in AZ. Your state looks beautiful, maybe one day our family will vacation there.
And I am super jealous the kiddos could wear long sleeves in October, last year or not!
