Cherry Cheesecake Brownies

“I was asked to participate in the #Pyrex100 campaign, sponsored by Pyrex®, a World Kitchen brand. Although I have been compensated, all opinions are my own.”

Have you ever made a recipe and fell in love with the first bite? No? That’s because you haven’t tried these. These Cherry Cheesecake Brownies are amazing. They are the perfect dessert to make and tag along to a party or picnic. From this day forward this is my go to make and take meal. I love brownies but not the biggest fan of cherries. If you can enjoy them warm right out of the oven they are amazing. Seriously, you need to try these.

Making them is super easy too. People are going to think you spent hours agonizing over the stove to make these bad boys but quite simply it breaks down to just this:

Ingredients Needed:

  • brownies, made per box directions {I prefer Betty Crocker Fudge Brownies}
  • 3/4 cups chocolate chunks
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 5 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 can (21 ounces) of cherry pie filling

{preheat oven to 350 (f) degrees}

Make your brownies as directed by the box and pour into 9×13 baker. Then sprinkle your chocolate chunks evenly over the brownie batter.

Then in a small bowl mix together butter and cream cheese until smooth. Then add in flour, sugar, vanilla extract & eggs and beat until fully blended. Take a spoon spatula and try to evenly spread over the top. You will think there isn’t enough but there really is. Don’t worry. Then take the spoon and slightly swirl or marble the two together. Nothing drastic, more for show. Then scoop spoonfuls of the cherry pie filling over the top.

Then place in the oven {uncovered} and bake for 55 minutes. Remove when the edges start to brown. Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting or serving. If bringing this to a function I would pre-cut. You could easily get 12-24 pieces depending on how big you cut. You have to eat these with a fork when warm. Once completely cooled if cut small they could be finger foods.

Since this is a layered dessert I love to use my new Pyrex baking dish to show off all the yummy goodness.  It really allows the food to be front and center too.

Did you know that Pyrex®, a World Kitchen brand” is actually celebrating their 100th birthday this year? I guess it’s time to stop complaining that I’m turning 34 in a week. Since 1915, Pyrex glassware has been an American-made kitchen staple, helping countless families bring comfort and joy through cooking. My grandmother is in her 70’s so that means even her mom and her grandmother could have easily been cooking in the kitchen with Pyrex too! Which doesn’t surprise me since Pyrex is one of the most recognized names in housewares and is a leader in glass kitchenware. I mean, really? How many other products can you think of that can be used as prepware, bakeware, serveware, and storage? I know I can’t think of any.

Did you know that the first line of Pyrex®, a World Kitchen brand” came out in 1915 and featured 12 pieces, including casserole dishes, custard cups, a bread/loaf pan, pie plates, egg dishes and individual bakers.  Several Pyrex products offered today can trace their lineage back to these original 12.
