I have always loved books. My mom is a first grade teacher and she instilled in me a love of reading. My favorite childhood books make me especially nostalgic. I love sharing the same adventures I enjoyed as a kid with my own children. Hayden is just starting to read on his own now and he is an excellent little reader. Paddington bear is one of my favorite characters I couldn’t wait to read to him and Halli. Paddington is such a sweet little bear and I was so excited when he was going to be brought to the big screen.
My kids and I sat down and made a fun night with Paddington that is now available on DVD, Blu-ray and On Demand. Just like in his books Paddington is everyone’s favorite marmalade-loving little bear. Paddington tells the story of his adventure as a young Peruvian bear who travels to London in search of a home. Paddington quickly realizes that the big city of London isn’t anything that he imagined it to be. He is lost and alone until he meets the kindly Brown family who is sweet enough to take him home with them. Paddington thinks his luck has finally changed until this rare talking bear catches the eye of Millicent, a museum taxidermist.
The cast is absolutely amazing such as Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins and Nicole Kidman. The cast is stacked with Emmy nominees, Oscar nominees, and Oscar winners. Nicole Kidman plays Millicent the taxidermist who is trying to kidnap poor Paddington. It is so fun to see her play the “bad guy” role.
I loved watching the Brown’s fall in love with Paddington and slowly realize they need him as much as Paddington needs them.
To celebrate the release of Paddington there are also some really fun activity sheets you can download for free! There are yummy recipes, mazes and coloring pages. My kids have loved the coloring pages from their new favorite movie Paddington. They both really love that sweet bear.
We laughed and giggled through the whole movie. Paddington is such a funny little bear. One of my kids favorite parts was at the beginning as the Brown family is getting to know Paddington.
The Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD bonus content includes Meet the Characters, When a Bear Comes to Stay, From Page to Screen and “Shine” Lyric Music Video written by Gwen Stefani & Pharrell. The Blu-ray will also include the exclusive special feature called The Making of “Shine” with Gwen Stefani & Pharrell. I absolutely love the song “Shine.” I downloaded it and we listen to it all the time.
Paddington is such a sweet story and a wonderful movie. The whole family will absolutely love it.

This was such a cute movie. We rented it as soon as it hit Redbox and ALL the kids (even the teens) watched it and laughed.

I missed this movie in the theaters and am glad to know I can now watch it at home! I loved the books and can’t wait to see the movie!
