My kids are so excited for Halloween! After changing their minds at least 20 times they have finally decided on costumes, and they are so excited to go Trick-or-Treating. Halli already has been practicing saying “Trick-Or-Treat!” This will be the first year that she really understands what is going on, and she is beyond excited. Hayden is also really excited for Halloween, but he knows that as soon as Halloween is over the real countdown is on for the new Peanuts movie!
For months now Hayden has been looking forward to seeing Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the whole gang in their new movie that premiers in theaters November 6th. Our family has a tradition of watching all of the Charlie Brown specials that come on TV around the holidays. I remember growing up with Peanuts, and now it is so fun that I get to share it with my kids.
Randalls is also really excited about the Peanuts movie and they are celebrating it by offering two super fun Peanuts Trick-or-Treat reusable bags! My kids and I decided to have a Charlie Brown theme movie night to really get excited for the movie, and we made some Charlie Brown inspired snacks with some of the things I purchased to get our Trick-Or-Treat bag.
I purchased some yummy fresh made sugar cookies from the deli, and my kids helped me frost them yellow or white. After that we added a black squiggle just like Charlie Brown’s shirt to the yellow cookies. To the white frosted cookies we added a red curved line for Snoopy’s collar.
These Charlie Brown and Snoopy cookies were so quick and easy, but my kids had a blast helping me make them.
Then we popped some Pop Secret kettle corn and snuggled in for our movie. I also purchased some Horizon Organics Chocolate milk and I told Hayden that it was “Snoopy Slobber.” He thought that was hilarious and giggled about it for the rest of the weekend.
Also make sure you enter The Peanuts Sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip to visit Snoopy’s home in California, or a Peanuts Movie themed Xbox console and game by Activition. The Peanuts Sweepstakes ends October, 31st 2015.
