I’m a total sand between the toes kinda girl. The idea of hitting the beach and feeling the sun warm my skin is just complete heaven to me. It’s cold here longer than it is warm and my mind often drifts away to places we could travel to that would make me forget the cold and the snow. One place I’ve been hearing a lot about lately and that is Puerto Rico!
Puerto Rico has 270 miles of coastline and featured in the Top 10 beaches from Travel Channel — including Flamenco Beach in Culebra, often cited as one of the best beaches in the world. I thought I’d share a photo of it with you because seeing that shore line I can definitely see how it made the top 10. I’d love to perch a chair just on the edge of the water and sun bath.
You can also glow like an angel in the water in the Bioluminescent bays, visit the only rainforest under US national park service, El Yunque, and climb to the clouds, and enjoy horse back riding or the magnificent Camuy caverns that runs through the 3rd largest subterranean river in the world.
If the warm weather city life is more your cup of tea then you can enjoy old world charm of San Juan and all it’s rich history. Don’t forget to experience the delicacies of Puerto Rican gastronomy and it’s famous Rums. Live your own 5-star vacation story in Puerto Rico. Remember- Passports or foreign money NOT required!!

I found that Puerto Rico has more nocturnal activities, sports…. It’s also very beautiful!!
I think Costa Rica is a little more ‘calm’ it’s absolutely gorgeous, more connection with nature. I’ve seen both a couple of times (specially Costa Rica, my good friend owns a famous hotel there)
I’d love to visit Puerto Rico. We have several friends with Puerto Rican heritage, and they sure make the place sound fantastic.
i am not planning a trip there but after reading this i want to be planning a trip there. i would love to go sometime soon.
My husband and I were just talking about going there the other day. We were trying to come up with some place that was warm but different then all the normal places. After reading this I really want to go.
