What: Our sense of hearing can play a critical role in education, particularly when we are young. Real and meaningful education happens when kids are truly engaged, and that engagement is only possible when kids can hear and understand the teacher. I’m working with The Motherhood to share insights about the potential impact of hearing loss on children’s education, and how to help these kids engage at school, during this Twitter party with the Hear the World Foundation.
When: Wednesday, Feb. 26, at noon ET (11a CT / 9a PT)
Where: We’ll be on Twitter – follow the #HearTheWorld hashtag to track the conversation. You can see more details and RSVP using the Twtvite: http://twtvite.com/
Hashtag: #HearTheWorld
Prizes: We will randomly award five prizes throughoutthe party, from all eligible correct response to trivia questions. Each prize is a $25 Amazon gift card. (No purchase necessary. Entrants must be legal residents of the 50 United States + D.C. 18 years of age or older. Void where prohibited.)
We have a deaf ministry at church headed by a woman who works in schools with deaf and hearing-impaired children. So important to spread awareness.
Looks like you have a lot of fun co-hosts for it! Have fun!
Sounds like it will be great! Will try to make it!
It’s too easy for children to get left behind in education, so it’s important that adults recognize what each child needs to thrive. Hearing loss would have a tremendous impact on a child’s education if it was not properly recognized. So great that you are spreading the word!
What a great twitter party! My son was premature, and I was nervous for his hearing. I’m glad to say he’s ok, (except when he’s just ignoring me) but I’m glad there are all these ways to help prevent hearing loss! I’m going to try and make it
Ooh I will try to make it. This sounds like a great chat.
If I can sneak away for a bit I’ll be there! Have fun!
I’ll definitely try to make the Twitter party because this sounds like a great organizations and I’d really love to learn more!
This is so important. Due to my daughter’s issues her hearing has been tested plenty of times, but many kids who seem to be typically developing are actually struggling, over something easily fixed.
You have a great list of co-hosts! I hope I can make it, it sounds like fun! That’s an important topic that more people need to be made aware of.
I’ll try to set aside some time to join in. Sounds like it will be a wonderful chat to join in on.
I hope I can make it. What a great program!
Thanks I will def try to be there!
I need to write this down so I can remember to come.
That’s certainly worth tweeting about! I hope the party is a smashing success with turnout!
Such a great program! Sort of off topic but I actually worked on the design of Phonak’s US headquarters in Illinois. You can see it here: mcshane-construction.com/whatwebuild.aspx?id=193 🙂
Sounds like a great party. I’ll try and make it.
i’ll have to see if I can attend the twitter party! Looks like fun.
Sounds like a great party. I’m hoping to make it.
We are dealing with hearing concerns with my 6 year old right now. The school, audiologists and doctors have been such a huge help in explaining things to us and helping us to know what to look for.
sounds like fun! good luck 😀
I have a grandson with some hearing issues
Can’t wait!
