I’ve been doing a bunch of baking lately since I have 23 POUNDS of blueberries that we’ve picked this month. We picked 13 lbs the first time and just went back for 10 more. I’m hoping to get 5 more next week as the season closes out. I wanted to share a little baking tip for fruit so it won’t sink to the bottom of what you’re baking.
Baking Tip: Add a little of your dry mix to your fruit to keep them from sinking to the bottom during the baking process. This will work for berries, chocolate chips, and other small items that you often put in things like bread and muffins.
You are such an inspiration! I need to get on this soon!
So good to know!
I’ve never heard that, but I like it! Thanks for the tip!
Oh my, my mind is just racing what to do with those. Ice cream, cookies, oatmeal, cereal, pancakes (mmmmm pancakes), and cake & cupcakes. OH YUM… DON’T GET ME STARTED! bwahahahahahaha
I love blueberries and these look SO good. Great tip, I actually had no idea about this…glad that I do now!
That’s a lot of blueberries and baking. Your neighbors must love you right now for sharing
That is an amazing amount of blueberries! And thanks for the tip, I would have never had known!
That is a bunch of blueberries. We skipped blueberries this year and ended up with a ton of strawberries from picking and store bought. I need a 2nd freezer because of all the frozen fruits I have lol.
I have 24 quarts of strawberries frozen too LOL! I couldn’t do it without the freezer in the basement though!
We have a deep freezer but its the chest kind. I need another because I have so much stuff shoved in there and I try to go grocery shopping once a month for big stuff and bulk stuff but I know I end up going through more food because I try to make room for stuff so I am looking into getting a 2nd one of some kind.
Holy Cow, that is a lot of blueberries, Yum
Yum!
I can’t imagine 15 POUNDS of blueberries! You will be doing a lot of baking π

Good tip – I was just telling my hubby that tip the other day… he is a better cook than I am, but he had never heard of doing that.
We love blueberry picking! I bet you’re going to have so many great things with those!
I have never done that and some day I think I’d like to try it. Only thing is I’m allergic to small insect bites. Is there a problem with that I wonder. I think I’d really like to go pickin’ strawberries too mmmmm Thanks for sharin’ !
Wow that is a lot of blueberries! I was thinking about going and picking with my kids tomorrow.
I also got a lot of blueberries this summer. We ate some fresh and I froze the rest. I’m using them in smoothies π
Thanks for the tip! I just made blueberry muffins yesterday and I’m planning on making more soon π
That’s a lot of berries. I love the baking tip. We don’t eat berries in our house, but this is a great idea to have baked good with fresh berries throughout the “off season”!
