You know those dreams when you wake up and you lie in bed trying to figure out if it’s real or not? This is totally that moment for me right now. Except it’s real life! I about died when Jennifer asked me to help be a contributor. I’ve followed momspotted since it used to be J. Leigh Designz, I am a huge fan of the blog, and absolutely adore Jennifer (but really how could you not?). I am beside myself excited and feel truly blessed for the opportunity.
Now for a little bit about me. My family and I are transplants to Texas and absolutely love it! I have even gotten use to the million percent humidity and 100+ degree summers. I still don’t love them, but the gorgeous spring with blue bonnet flowers make up for them…a little. Before my “mom life” I was able to work in a special program with darling kiddos who have autism. They changed my life and taught me so much. There is a special place in my heart for those kiddos. I know that through the experience of working with them, I am now a better mom, wife, and person. Especially as my son has had a really significant speech delay and has needed some early intervention. It is interesting how the Lord and life prepares us for things right?
My ridiculously good looking husband and I have been married 5 years; he really is my very best friend. We have the most handsome little man who is 4 (boo hoo 🙁 they grow too fast!), and I am due ANY day now with our little princess. Truly any day; my due date is April 3rd, but home girl needs to find a new residence… I love feeling her move in there, but I can tell she is running out of room by the tiny knee that is clear up in my lung. I am not blessed to be one of those women that can “make pregnancy look good.” Slow clap for you if you are one of those cute pregnant ladies. One day maybe I can join your club…in another life. I have loved having a busy, smart, and super imaginative little boy. He keeps me on my toes and helps me laugh a lot during the day. I’m thrilled to have a little girl now too. My heart melts with all the ruffle bums, headbands, flowers, and other girliness. I feel so very blessed to be a mother. I know it is my greatest calling in life to be able to take care of and teach such sweet little spirits. I love that I can totally add to my resume that I am an expert train track builder, dinosaur noise maker, owie healer, and can design any kind of robot imaginable out of play doh. Along with the not so glamorous, clean an entire jar of Vaseline out of carpet/clothes/hair/toys, get pen or marker off any surface and usually not gag at puke. I am proud to live in the wonderful “Land of One Shaved Leg” because that is usually all I have time for. I am proud and so grateful to be a stay at home mom.
Randomness about me: I absolutely love to cook and bake, that is my stress outlet. I love to try new recipes and I really enjoy eating. Losing the pregnancy weight again will be a blast! On that note I also really love eating Blue Bell Ice Cream while watching the Bachelor/Bachelorette. (Whose ready for Bachelorette Desiree?!) I love new baby smell, reading, hand sanitizer, spontaneous hugs and kisses from my little man, girl’s nights, peanut butter M&M’s, Peach-O’s, new shoes, and sushi. I have a strong testimony and love of Jesus Christ. I’ve been known to be a “helicopter mom,” it’s a title I will carry with pride. I am so excited to share little tips, recipes, reviews and bits about my life with you. I’m all about keeping it real, I am no Martha by any means but I am always trying to better myself a little more. Happy reading and I hope to get to know y’all a little more too!
Nice to meet you! I have a 3yo boy and a new little girl, too, so we have a lot in common! 🙂
Hi Megan! How fun – I’m looking forward to your posts. I’m a transplant to Texas too (Dallas.) I just realized this past summer that I’m finally used to it here too… but told my husband he wasn’t allowed to admit it to anyone, lol.
CONGRATS!
