5 Small Steps for 2013 {and win a $1,000 gift card}

I know I already shared with you my bucket list for the year but I wanted to take the time to break one down a little more.

See, I really want to lose weight this year. I had my last baby and the excuses really are over. I need to stop lying to myself and start doing something to change the way I feel about myself. As you know I want to lose a total of about 50 pounds, maybe a little more if I can.

1. Drink More Water. You would think this would be easy but I can go all day and realize all I had was coffee. If I give up the coffee I can find myself drinking nothing and thinking nothing of it until it’s late and hard to catch up.

2. Exercise. I bought a few workout DVD’s and then never used them. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? I’ve dug them off, dusted them off, and I’m making use of them.

3. Eat Better. Well, maybe I should word that better. Eat less. Overall. I feel I eat well and make great choices. Problem? I eat too much. If you notice America eats a lot. We like our food and our portions are big. I need to cut back and eat less. When I get hungry throughout the day I try to make good choices like a handful of almonds or some yummy Quaker Popped Rice Snacks.

4. No Smoking. I quit smoking when I found out I was pregnant with Sawyer. I had no problem staying quit when I was pregnant & still when I was nursing. Lately, I’ve been around it more which has put it in my thoughts again and I need to stay strong and stay quit. I know I can do it.

5. Sleep More. No more 4am nights with my 7am mornings. I know that I can handle getting 12 hours of sleep a week but just because I can do it doesn’t mean I should. I get short and snippy when I’m tired and find myself in a slump when I’m “recovering”. A good nights rest makes for a productive good day.

I know all of these together will help me not only meet my goal but overall give me a better life experience. I’ll be happier, more motivated, and I’ll feel good about myself both inside and out. Something that should definitely help make getting there that much easier!
