Chuggington Has Some Safety Tips for You this Halloween!

I’m so excited that its Halloween but remember in all the fun we all need to stay safe! Chuggington and I want all of you to have a Traintastic Halloween filled with fun and of course photos but we want your little ones to know that safety always comes first!

With more people on the streets and sidewalks than ever before, it is important to teach your trainee proper traffic safety procedures to ensure that they stay safe and have fun this Halloween. As you know, Chuggington and NHTSA’s ‘Think Safe, Ride Safe, Be Safe!’ traffic safety campaign provides important traffic safety tips (including pedestrian safety tips for parents and children) which your family and your readers will find valuable this Halloween and beyond. Here are a few important pedestrian safety tips from the campaign to share with your readers (and your trainee!):

This Halloween…

  • Walk on the sidewalk
  • If there is no sidewalk, walk facing traffic
  • Use a crosswalk if you can to cross the street
  • When crossing the street, look left-right-left for cars, and continue to keep looking for cars as you cross

In addition to Halloween, did you know that October is also International Walk to School Month? Did your schools participate? Mine did! Our boys school even made all the buses drop kids off one mile from school and police helped escort them to school. How awesome is that!

Happy Halloween!
