Can you believe that Christmas is just across the corner? I have family already asking me what my kids want as they are beginning to start their holiday shopping.
First thing I try to do this time of year is figure out what I can afford an what it is I plan on buying my boys. Then once I know what I'm doing I can let others know. One way to keep a budget on your holiday gifts is to use a free layaway!
Call me crazy but why would you go anywhere else for a layaway? i want to be able to go into a store grab a cart and get everything need all at once. I want to put everything on there that I need right down to the wrapping paper. I don't just use layaways to budget but as a place to store what I need until I need it. Kids presents can get big and you also don't want them stumbling onto Santa's paper. Do you really want to sit there sorting out everything in your cart that is under $15?
Not only are you unable to purchase small price items with restrictions like that but think of fun game systems like Vtech where you buy additional games for $10-$15 – those wouldn't be allowed on your layaway at other places!
Plus, where else can you do it online?
Have you heard of Kmart's Big Layaway Giveaway?
Kmart's prepping for the season of giving and to coincide with this time they are launching the “Big Layaway Giveaway”. Meaning there is one layaway giveaway per store per week every week from 9/9/12 through 11/17/12* Now's the time to place those gifts you've been eying on layaway and also get the chance to win some great prizes at Kmart!

So there is a way to enter without making a purchase? Wow-really a winner every week at every store! Chances are pretty good.
I just LOVE Kmart, especially for toys and household items. We had 3 Kmarts in our mid size city and about 12 years ago they ALL closed. Thank goodness there is still one near my daughter and my MIL, so we do watch the ads around the holidays at least and have done the layaway some. I sure miss going there on a regular basis though.
Thanks for the heads up about the giveaway. That would be a dream…
