One of the many reasons I switched over to wordpress was for more organization and to make my blog more user friendly. However, it seems like I haven’t had a single moment to catch my breath since I switched over from blogger over a year ago. One of the first things I wanted to address on here was my menu’s. I wanted you to be able to search for a recipe, craft, or review and find is easily. I thought I could just create forms and add in drop down menu’s, re-categorize everything in mere minutes.
While, honestly, lots of things about wordpress are really simple a lot of it takes knowing HTML and I just can’t get it. Even simple things like updating sidebar code gets me nervous and overwhelmed. I was able to use a form builder program for my contact form and that was really helpful and I wish there were more step by step tutorials for doing things to take your site to the next level. I can’t always pay someone every time I need something tweaked, changed or fixed but I often feel like I can’t do it myself without fear that I’m going to make a bigger mess.
Another thing I wanted to do was build pages for my ambassador programs but every time I attempt it I got so confused in the tutorials I read that I just give up before I even get started. I haven’t done any of the things I had hoped to do and it’s over a year later and it just frustrates me. I even picked up a copy of the HTML for Dummies book per advice of another blogger but I guess I’m such a dummy that I can’t even understand that.
Do you have any recommendations on site, blogs, ANYWHERE that could help walk me through the process to bring my blog a more organized appearance? Has anyone used FormsCentral through Adobe? Is it easy? I would love any advice you can give me. My only request is it needs to be simple and it needs to be free.
I’m just hoping to switch to WP one day!
It gets easier hun, I promise.
