The Giada De Laurentiis for Target Collection

I love watching cooking shows. One of my favorite people to watch is Giada De Laurentiis! She actually has two shows on The Food Network: Giada at Home and Everyday Italian. Tonight I’m even tuning into Giada’s Family Christmas because I want to see what she’s making this year! So when I heard she came out with a cookware, bakeware, and food line I was excited! When I heard it would be affordable and available exclusively at Target I was thrilled!

When Mom Central asked if I’d be interested in trying out the new Giada De Laurentiis for Target Collection I didn’t have to think twice. The Ceramic 2-qt. Oval Baker is actually my favorite item that I received. I really don’t have anything like it and truthfully wasn’t on the market for one either. I’ve had it a week and I’ve used it twice already. It’s definitely going to be one of my go to pieces. I’ll be using it for my formal Christmas dinner to make my yummy candied carrots.

This baker is oven and microwave safe but the downfall is the ceramic baker is not dishwasher friendly.

It’s also no secret that I bake all the time too. I received several bowls and tools that I’ve been using and they are quickly becoming favorites! We received the Red Mixing Bowl and Utensil Gift Set minus the cookbook and I REALLY hope I can buy the book separately because I will be looking for it on my next trip to Target!

If you are in need of a gift for someone still and are clueless. Even if they have many of the items in this set (like I already did!) they will still really like them. The bowl store well and are easy to clean. they have a handle on one end and a spout on the other. I love this when I’m baking as you often have to make two things and then combine them or pour batters into pans.

She also had a food line! We got to sample a few foods and her coffee and they are great! Several of these I’ve saved for my appetizer platters this holiday season! I use a lot of these in my cooking already but now when I make her specific recipes I know I can use exactly what she is using so I really like that!

Here’s one recipe I have on my menu plan for this weekend!

Cheese Stuffed Dates with Prosciutto

Recipe Courtesy of Giada De Laurentiis
·    ¼ cup (2oz) goat cheese, at room temperature
·    ¼ cup (2oz) mascarpone cheese, at room temperature
·    ¼ cup finely chopped basil leaves
·    Salt and freshly ground pepper
·    16 Medjool dates (or 12 traditional dates)
·    8 thin slices of prosciutto, halved lengthwise

1.    In a small bowl, mix together the cheeses and basil. Season with salt and pepper.
2.    With a knife, make a lengthwise incision in each date, gently open the dates slightly and remove the pits.
3.    Spoon about ½ tsp cheese mixture inside each one. Close the dates around the filling.
4.    Wrap a piece of prosciutto around each date and secure with toothpick.
5.    Arrange the stuffed dates on platter and serve.

Yield: 4 – 6 servings/ 16 dates
Prep Time: 8 minutes
Cook Time: n/a

Remember, the Giada De Laurentiis Collection is exclusively available at Target so you must visit them to check out this awesome line. I haven’t been to Target yet since receiving my products so I’m super excited about seeing all her pieces in person the next time I’m there!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Giada De Laurentiis for Target and received product samples to facilitate my review.

I love her products and watching her on TV. Her cookware is elegant and functional! The kind you hang on your pot rack, and not hide in your cabinet!

I got my Giada enamel coated cast iron dutch oven at Target last year and I love it. I looked at some other brands but the cheaper ones like Lodge seemed like they wouldn’t hold up. The coating on the sample ones was chipped (yikes). And higher end brands like le creuset are just too expensive. The Giada one was about $80 I think, which was what I was looking to spend. It is very well made. And I love that the lid is one solid piece. I hate those metal knobs that are on some dutch ovens. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a dutch oven. Good product good price. I don’t have much experience with her other products but I’m very happy with what I have seen. Glad to hear you are enjoying her products as well.
