Our home has been a home to K’nex for years. We discovered them a long time ago when Johnny was about Gavin’s age. We’ve gone through many of the different series through the years and they’ve always entertained and challenged him all at the same time.
See K’nex isn’t your typical block building. K’nex building is fun, creative, and different. Their pieces are all different shapes and sizes and all different colors. You can get basic set and character sets. Sets for young and sets for old.
Gavin started playing with K’nex when he was around three. The Sesame Street series starts for kids as young as two. Johnny really got into the Thrill Rides series and well, I have to admit- these were awesome! They were more then just building as they had to come together and actually work and go round and round when all was said and done. No matter the age of your child there is a set or series that is sure to be perfect for them. They even have basic Multi-Model Sets that you can pick up to try out or add to collections you already have. The photo above is one of the Multi-Model Sets and what kind of pieces they carry.
One of the newest series they have is their Mario Kart Wii series, which I must tell you is high up on Gavin’s wish list this year. I didn’t even know it existed until the Mario™ and Luigi™ Starting Line showed up on my doorstep. When I opened the box I was so excited. The next time we were at the store I dragged Gavin down the isle and sure enough they were all there. Of course Gavin begged and pleaded on the spot for me to get them for him.
We cannot wait to give him these Christmas morning. We have packed away all his trains and have his train table all set to go. We’ve scooped up every set we could get our hands on and know he is going to be beyond thrilled when he opens them. We love knowing that the boys are going to have fun building the track together and the whole family can actually race with our own motorized cars.
I went searching for some great reviews and video’s and this video below just got us more and more excited. If you haven’t checked out the Mario Kart Wii series you need to. I mean seriously- how fun does this look?
You can find K’nex at pretty much any location that sells kids toys. We have even found them at our local AC Moore which rocked because we were able to take advantage or the 40-50% off coupons they’ve been issuing! Your kids will love getting them so I highly recommend these under your tree this holiday season!
