My favorite movies are the ones that makes you get emotional. The Help was definitely one of those movies. One minute I was cheering, the next crying, and then throughout the movie that process was on repeat. Miss Skeeter is on a mission to share the story of the hired help in her community. She can’t stand to sit back and watch the way the white folk think they can treat the hired help and starts to put her writing skills to work by putting together the stories of the help.
This movie will make you laugh so hard and cry deeply just moments from each other. Learn what the secret ingredient is in Minny’s chocolate pie and why we weep when we understand the meaning of Celia’s rosebushes. This movie will touch your heart in many ways!
Based on one of the most talked about books in years and a #1 New York Times best-selling phenomenon, “The Help” stars Emma Stone (“Easy A”) as Skeeter, Academy Award(R)–nominated Viola Davis (“Doubt”) as Aibileen and Octavia Spencer as Minny – three very different, extraordinary women in Mississippi during the 1960s, who build an unlikely friendship around a secret writing project that breaks societal rules and puts them all at risk. From their improbable alliance a remarkable sisterhood emerges, instilling all of them with the courage to transcend the lines that define them, and the realization that sometimes those lines are made to be crossed – even if it means bringing everyone in town face-to-face with the changing times. Deeply moving, filled with poignancy, humor and hope, “The Help” is a timeless and universal story about the ability to create change.
The Help is rated PG-13 and is 146 minutes long. Make sure to check out all the DVD bonus features such as deleted scenes and Mary J. Blige’s music video for “The Living Proof”!

This is one I really want to see. I wanted to see it when it was in the theaters, but you know how that goes sometimes!
Glad to know I can see it soon from home.
Glad to have come across this post. I had heard this was a really good movie but I’d never even seen the trailer before. Now I really want to see it!
I can hardly wait to see this when we rent it this weekend.
