Maintaining Your Whirlpool Duet Frontloaders! Video! #whirlpoolmoms

This isn’t the first frontloader set I’ve owned. However, with my first set I laughed at the idea of washing a washer. I mean seriously listen to that when I say it again. Wash a washer. Months later I started understanding why they tell you this. My drum began to smell and the soap drawer was all gucky. I didn’t jump right on it then when I really should have either. At first I started by doing a wash load with bleach and no clothes but it was too late. No matter what I did I couldn’t get rid of the smell.

The drawer I couldn’t get perfectly clean either. It was so gross I didn’t really want to carry it through my whole house (I have second floor laundry) and even with a scrub brush and the hose the little corners wouldn’t come clean. The ring around the drum had grown a fungus that I could never completely clean. This time around I was determined to never let that happen again.

What rocks about Whirlpool is that not only do they have a special wash made just for this (my last brand didn’t) but they even signal you when it’s time. If you’re on a mission to get lots of laundry done and clear through it the message will pop up again a few loads later so you don’t forget.

I wanted to do a video so you can see just what I do to maintain my set and keep it looking brand new even months later. I have no smell, no guck, no mold, nothing. It looks the same it did the day it was delivered! How? Here are my tricks and tips!

I wrote this review while participating in a test-drive campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Whirlpool and received a complimentary Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer to facilitate my review.
