We have been running around here like crazy lately trying to get things done. Hubby thinks my nesting period has begun because while I’m normally happy in a messy home I have been obsessing over having our place spotless. I think I just like getting to decorate and I love the house looking festive. I can’t wait to take down the fall decor and put up the Christmas tree next weekend.
Did I just say next weekend? Where did all the time go? Wasn’t it just summertime? We’ve already had multiple snowfalls and are anticipating a white Thanksgiving even though yesterday was 60. Mother Nature has lost her marbles it seems this year.
This past weekend was Johnny’s 11th birthday. Since for years I’ve been trying to get alone time with him to do something fun and no one wanted to help out and take just Gavin I took it upon myself to show up at the school at 10 am and dismiss him for the day. From there we went out to see Jack & Jill at the movies. I was a bit leary at his movie choice since I love Adam Sandler and know how crude he can be but this was rated PG and the previews were all over Nickelodeon. The movie was okay but in my opinion it definitely was borderline PG and I was glad Gavin wasn’t there. Since it was 11:30am on a school day we were the only ones in the theater. It seemed everyone else there wanted to see Breaking Dawn (which I was mildly jealous of). Of course Johnny being Johnny he took full advantage and jumped all over to find the perfect seat. From front row to back row we tried them. Have you ever sat in the front row? I don’t know how people do that.
Saturday was his actual birthday and his party too. We did a laser storm party this year and Johnny was in heaven. Daddy never played before and couldn’t believe how much fun it was. While we are a gun free home and aren’t fond of kids toys that angle them we love laser storm.
Afterwards, he got to stand in the prize pit and after the party he picked one friend to stay and roller skate with a friend. Daddy of course gave them tons of tokens for the arcade too.
I can’t believe he is 11 already. I can’t believe how fast the time flies. I can’t believe I’m crazy enough to be starting all.over.again.
