State Of Emergency

Just a quick note….

We are in a state of emergency. The area I live in is a mess. We received about a foot and a half of snow on Sat. and we have no power anywhere. The weight of the snow on trees with leaves took them all down! We still have trees in roads, live wires everywhere, etc. No open stores, no street lights, no gas. Our schools are shut down and I have no clue the next time I’ll have an internet connection (I’m not near home right now).

Just wanted to let you know we’re here just not here. We’re expected to be another week without power so cross your fingers we don’t starve to death or die of boredom….

We didnt get as much snow as you, but we have a lot of trees, branches and wires down. We were lucky and did not lose power, but surrounding towns are still without power. That was a scarey storm. We stood in the garage and just listened…you could hear branches snapping and falling all around. Hope you are able to stay warm and that power is back on soon.

  9. Oh wow, hope everything gets back in order soon. I’m sooo not looking forward to snow to hit us in Illinois.

  10. Wow! Seems to early for a big storm to blow in. Hope your and your family stay safe and this ends quickly. I will keep you in our prayers.

Wow how scary! Where did fall go? If this is any indication of what winter is going to be like this year then we had all better brace ourselves! . . Just scary! Stay safe!

  12. Good Luck and my prayers are with you. We just got “back in order” where I am.

  13. BusyWorkingMama says

Boo, hope you all get power soon. Be careful out there!

  14. Mike says

Sorry to hear you are ‘snowed under’… The last couple of months for the east has been pretty hairy…

Have you considered satellite internet? I live so far out in the bushes, my Internet cuts in and out all winter and I am considering it…

As far as power is concerned, I take my laptop, plug it into a 12AC inverter in my pickup and run the heater on high… lol

Hope you get cleared out soon!!!!

This happened to us in the winter of 2009. We had an ice storm and we didn’t have power for 7 days. We had live wires hanging in front of our driveway, so we couldn’t even go anywhere. My son was only 5 months old at the time and we had to keep him dressed in several layers of clothes and hats at all times. We at least had gas and tried to keep warm with our stovetop. Take care and I hope you don’t die of boredom!! Or freeze! I will be thinking about your family.

  16. good luck digging out. still no school where we are, but our home has power so i’m not complaining.

  17. I was thinking of you! Hang in there!!!! Uggg you are prego, no power and stress really sucks!!! Thinking of you!

I remember losing power right after I had Mica. All my stored breastmilk and stocked up meat almost had to be tossed!

Thinking of you and praying for this to get resolved today….if it hasn’t been already. I can only imagine how horrible it must be.

  19. Wow, I hope you are able to be back in your homes with power soon. Stay safe… and warm!
