The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby’s fingers will soon begin to open and close, her toes will curl, her eye muscles will clench, and her mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won’t be able to feel it. Her intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into her abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into her bladder.
Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby’s brain, synapses are forming furiously. Her face looks unquestionably human: Her eyes have moved from the sides to the front of her head, and her ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.
There’s something to be said when you tell your kid to take a picture of your belly bump. You’ll get just that minus your head because after all you said ‘take a pic of my belly’. They did that, didn’t they?
I swear I feel the baby moving around but I’m not completely sure yet. I get super sharp pains whenever I sneeze or cough at the bottom of my abdomen and while I know it’s normal it still worries me. I have another appointment in just over a week where I should be able to get to hear the heartbeat for the first time. I got to see it at 8 weeks on the ultrasound but they didn’t try with the doppler. I’m sure at that appointment I’ll be able to schedule my gender ultrasound. I really want to find out what it is. I can’t really start preparing for until I know what color I’m buying for.
I am so excited about setting up the room. It’s a room I’ve been using for storage and isn’t a bedroom at all. In fact it’s our bedrooms unfinished master bathroom. It’s not open to our room there is a hallway in our room that separates them and the room is only flooring and sheet rock and it’s just as big as Gavin’s room. It’s going to need a lot of work though. I’m not a fan of gender neutral colors. I think yellow is still girly and green is for boys so I just want to wait. Until then….
CUTE!!! (I get on my cousin ALL THE TIME for cutting her head off in preg pics. Your baby will want to see your FACE when he/she is looking at these!)
You can barely tell – lucky lady!!
wm

You look great :)!
Aw, look at you! Too cute 🙂
It sounds like aside from the painful sneezes, things are going good for you!
LOL about the pic. He did succeed in getting your belly though. I’m so with you on the gender thing. I HAD to know and it made it so fun. I love pink and purple for girls!
Such a cute little bump!
You look great! Good luck getting the room in shape.
