Chef’sChoice WaffleCone Express & Gourmet Mix Review

I love waffle cones. It’s not just a summer thing either. Waffle cones just take my favorite dessert to the next level. There are so many ways to dress them up and make them but even simply plain nothing beats a waffle cone.

When I had the opportunity to see all the different waffle machines that Chef’sChoice carried at the Chicago Housewares show I was impressed. I knew there were all these different kinds of presses but for some reason I never thought until then about making my own cones. Love it!

Each box of mix has three packages of mix. I like that they are individually wrapped. The mix is so easy!

I recommend having everything set up and ready. Once you get going and get the hang of wrapping the waffles the process moves along rather quickly. The paper towels laid out was my working station for rolling the waffles. I also suggest having a towel handy for heat relief.

The machine is relatively easy to use. Simply pour the mix on the maker and close the top. The light will turn red when it’s cooking and turn green once it’s done. Ta-da!

Having a stand is key when forming the cones. You take the waffle and wrap it around the cone mold that came with the maker when it’s still hot. Careful though I still haven’t figured out a way to make them without burning your fingers. This isn’t a job your kids can help you with. I don’t have photos because it was definitely a two hand procedure. It was well worth it though.

You must store the cones in a cool place. I made mine the night before our picnic and left them on the counter and it was humid and they all unwrapped. You could even place them in bowl and form them that way too.

The taste of the mix was excellent! I will definitely be purchasing the brand again!

You can purchase the Chef’sChoice WaffleCone Express Maker for $59.99 and the Gourmet Waffle Mix for $14.95 from Amazon.com! After making them yourself you’ll never go back to buying them!
