If you’ve never heard of it, it started over on An Island Life.
Sound like fun?
So, for this week’s question:
Q: What makes you visit a blog? What makes you visit my blog?
A: Loyalty, Friendship? Contests, Recipes? I think I have different blogs for different interests. I mainly blog hop on my iPad. I am a lurker. I always visit but don’t often comment. I know that’s bad but generally when I have a chance to “hop” I’m laying in bed on my iPad and it’s hard to type. I also have them in folders accordingly: Blogs I like to Read, Recipes/Food, Reviews & Giveaways, Home Decor, and Everything Blogs.

a little bit of everything! There are bloggers I interact with a lot at MomDot so I read them more for personal stories, and then there are some I visit for giveaways and some for recipes.
Usually loyalty to bloggers who have helped develop me and the growth of my blog. If I am out there just looking, it is usually for good giveaways or meaningful posts.
I agree with both of these ladies and actually Tammy’s blog is one that I visit daily because of loyalty… she has helped me numerous times with blogging!
I go to blogs who are participating in memes or hosting giveaways. I also go to the blogs I subscribe via email to if they have a post that interests me. And of course I try to visit those who comment on my blog!
A mixture of content types, something I can connect with, and interesting posts keep me going to blogs including yours 🙂 There is also a sense of friendship with people that you comment back and forth with, meet at blogging events and more.
Like Beth, I like a mixture of content types, particularly if there’s a ‘connection’ with the blogger – I’ve appreciated those that have been loyal in spite of my blog being meme-heavy as of late…they comment even if they’re not participating, and I make a point to visit them every day too – because of the overall ‘connection’. 🙂
Aloha: Playdates and Sleepovers
I think I started visiting your site from either Entrecard or Aloha Friday- or both 🙂
Have a great Friday!

I started visiting blogs for giveaways, but I return for the personal posts. It is nice being able to relate to other mothers and read about their adventures.
Well I guess initially visiting a blog would happen via word of mouth, coming from someone else’s blog – what keeps me coming back is quality posts, friendships formed, uncluttered blog layouts, etc.
I came through Aloha Friday question
Little bit of everything! Giveaways, watching people go through infertility and pregnancy, watching kids grow up, multiples (because I cannot even imagine how they do it!), etc. Fun times! I fee like many of my blogger friends are real life friends sometimes too! ;oP
I vist my friend’s bl;ogs regularly but like to find new ones through memes like aloha 🙂
I visit blogs for many different resons (1) I love the blogs that I visit and there are many on this list (2) contest and giveaways or possibly even good deal post (3) recipes and other memes lead me there
I visit your blog because I (know) you in a way and you are familiar and also for the fun giveaways.
Same with many other blogs.
I also visit new blogs, just because I like to meet others.
I keep coming back for a blog that makes me laugh or share about real life or giveaways.
i visit because it’s like visiting a neighbor but in cyberspace..i get ideas, advice, and i get another person’s perspective on a dilemma or topic.
I’m like you, I visit various blogs for various reasons. I started coming to your blog for giveaways but I think we’ve become friends – not that you don’t also have awesome giveaways. It’s not always the reason I start going to a blog that I continue. I do follow for giveaways but if I don’t win or don’t ever look at their blog after that, I go through and purge who I’m following every now and again. :S
Blogs are just fun. I love the sharing of ideas, recipes and contests. You can really learn alot about how other people see and do things, expanding your own ideas and hopefully bettering the way you think and live 🙂
I’m with you-I visit many different blogs for different reasons. I’d say the blogs I visit the most are those who follow and comment me back, and generally take an interest in my life as I do theirs 🙂
Hope you have a great weekend!
Normally memes, giveaways, blog hops or catchy post titles
If it’s one I’ve visited for a long time, it’s the connection I’ve made with the author. The newer ones (in the last six months or so) I visit for the giveaways.
The subject of the blog usually is what bings me in. I have to admit, a lot of times I discoover the blog because of contests, but then if I like the blog I am hooked. The blog must be easy to look at and have interesting posts. Usually I am a lurker, but I have been commenting more frequently. 🙂
