Disney’s Tangled Blu-ray & DVD Combo Pack Available Tomorrow!!! March 29, 2011! $5 Off Coupon too!

Have you seen Disney’s 50th Animated Feature Film Tangled yet? I took my boys to see it in the theater when it first came out and all three of us absolutely loved it. We went there thinking it might be too girly after all it’s all about the princess, right? But it was vacation time and we really wanted to go to the movies. We were so happy that we went to see it. Gavin who can easily get bored with a movie towards the end sat on the edge of his seat the entire time. Johnny even being older found it fun and adventurous.

Now you can watch it home! Tomorrow, March 29 is the release date for Tangled on DVD + Blu-ray!

Synopsis:
When the kingdom’s most wanted—and most charming—bandit Flynn Rider (voice of ZACHARY LEVI) hides out in a mysterious tower, he’s taken hostage by Rapunzel (voice of MANDY MOORE), a beautiful and feisty tower-bound teen with 70 feet of magical, golden hair. Flynn’s curious captor, who’s looking for her ticket out of the tower she’s been locked away in for years, strikes a deal with the handsome thief, and the unlikely duo sets off on an action-packed escapade, complete with a super-cop horse, an overprotective chameleon and a gruff gang of pub thugs. Tangled is a story of adventure, heart, humor and hair—lots of hair.

Bonus Features:

Blu-ray
Untangled: The Making of a Fairy Tale – Exactly how long is Rapunzel’s hair? How many lanterns were used? Where did Pascal’s name come from? Which Disney animated feature first utilized CG animation? These and more will be answered when Mandy Moore and Zach Levi take viewers on a kooky behind-the-scenes tour to learn how the filmmakers styled this film’s “Golden Tresses.”
Deleted Scenes – Co-directors Byron Howard and Nathan Greno introduce three scenes and illuminate why they were ultimately cut.

  • The Jaunty Moose
  • Chemistry Develops
  • “Vigor The Visionary”

Extended Songs – The complete versions of two great songs are shared in a unique feature that explains the co-directors decision to scale them down.

  • “When Will My Life Begin”
  • “Mother Knows Best”

Two Original Storybook Openings – Two alternate versions of the film’s opening sequence described by co-directors Nathan Greno and Byron Howard.
50th Animated Feature Countdown – A video montage celebrating Tangled as the 50th film to join The Walt Disney Studios’ prestigious lineup of classic animated features.
9 Tangled Teasers – A collection of the most unique and quirky commercials made for the theatrical release of “Tangled.” Some are spoofs based off of infomercials and/or breaking news, some are teasers and others are simply just funny filmstrips.

Now, the princess. She was kidnapped when she was just a baby for her hair. Yes, her hair. If you haven’t figured this out yet the entire movie is based around her hair. It’s magical and can heal people as well as make people young again all from the power of a special flower the queen took when she was pregnant with her to save her life. When Gothel (the evil woman Rapunzel thinks is her mom) sneaks into the palace nursery to clip a piece of her magical hair to keep her young she finds that cutting her hair takes the magical powers from it and it turns brown. So, she takes Rapunzel off to a far away tower and raises her as her own.

And of course there is Flynn Rider aka the palace thief. He has stolen the missing princesses crown and is chased off by Max the palace horse who just happens to be a great addition to the movie. When he finds Rapunzel’s tower she traps him and hides the crown and makes him take her to “the lights” and then return her home before Gothel returns. This is where the real fun begins. The dynamics between Flynn and Rapunzel are perfect!

One of my boys favorite scenes is when Flynn tries to scare Rapunzel back into the tower and return the crown by bringing her to a place called ‘Snuggly Duckling’. This clip is just a small portion of the scene. You’ll have to see the movie to see how they wiggle their way out of this one:

When they finally make it to the lanterns Flynn and Rapunzel admit their feelings. But what happens when the crown gets returned? Does Flynn stay or go?

Disney’s Tangled is a must see and one of my favorites now. Want some pretty activity and coloring pages for your kids after the movie plays?
