We flew out of Logan in Boston with Jet Blue. Suddenly right in front of us when the plane landed there were all these people in uniform, state police, and dogs at the gate. They spent about 20 mins on the plane with the other passengers and then another 30 minutes afterwards. Jet Blue told us they had no explanation as the TSA doesn’t need to explain themselves to them or us. They said it could have been just a random search as they are allowed to do that as well. After they were done we had to wait while they did paperwork for it all.
Needless to say we were relieved when the engine had an issue and they sent us to a new gate after all that to catch a different plane. Fun when you have your kids in tow! It was also the same day our house burnt down a few years ago. The last thing I wanted to do was board a plane. My superstitions were working on overload that day.
(Sorry for the bad pic, it was taken with my ipod touch from far off)

Yeah, that would be hectic and worrisome with kiddos in tow! So glad it wasn’t anything to worry about and you got to your destination safely! 🙂
I haven’t flown since the TSA started radiating and feeling people up. They are a bunch of minimum wage, unskilled goons and quite frankly they should be abolished. All of this 4th amendment trampling was the result of the underware and shoe bombers, where it has been proven they were set ups by the government. If you don’t believe me do some googling. Sorry to be controversial, but people do need to be informed.
Ugh, I bet that was horrible with kids in tow.
That would probably have me so scared that I wouldn’t actually get on the plane. I am already scared of flying.
Sounds like a headache! I used to get excited about flying. Now, not so much.
Oh goodness, that would make me nervous. I wish that someone would offer an explanation when things like this happen instead of leaving everyone’s imaginations to run away over what they are actually doing.
Wow! a bit nerve wracking I am sure… but it did give them time to find an issue with the plane, so I guess you were really blessed with the slight inconvenience. I hope the kids didn’t drive you crazy. hugs~
That would have been so freaky and annoying!
That’s crazy when something like that happens, scares everyone just a little bit!
That would have totally freaked me out.
Happy WW!
That would have been so nervewracking!!!
I say this and I’m getting onto a plane tomorrow too… lol
That would’ve totally freaked me out. Then to find out there’s an engine problem. YIKES! Not sure I’d be ok with that either! LOL
You poor thing! Sounds like a totally stressful experience! I’m glad to hear you all survived it 😉
I’m so glad all was well and you were safe. I must say though that Jet Blue was wrong—TSA DOES have to explain itself. I totally agree with Trishden. The TSA has been acting as though they are the enforcers of a police state. I won’t fly anymore either.
That is just craziness! I’m glad everything worked out!
You’re brave to take a picture of all that security. I’m always a little nervous to do anything like that. Glad you’re all okay!
Glad you got on a different plane, that would make me uneasy… Traveling with kids is hectic enough…
Wow, how scary…. but I think,IMHO, that I’d be less afraid to get on a plane that had been thoroughly searched by those guys than one that nobody had searched.
I’m pretty superstitious myself, I will never fly on Sept. 11th, no matter what… I rearrange my plans all the time.
Glad you arrived at your destination safely… it’s got to be more frightening flying out of Logan, too – I know I was nervous flying into Logan.
Oh that is scary…I would have freaked out just a little too. I’m glad everything turned out okay!
Holy cow! Sure hope the kids weren’t scared! I know you explained to them right away so they wouldn’t be frightened. Now explain to me you’re scarring the crap out of me! ~snicker~ Dang! I don’t think you better do anything on that date anymore! Stay home, stay in bed, whatever! Whoosh!
That poor lady with the baby!
how awful for you. I’m surprised you didn’t hear something later. people always catch a bit of an ear full …
I can’t help but notice the lady standing at the door with thee toddler stretching out my guess is screaming. What fun…
sorry hope the rest of your day goes better or went better
How scary especially with your children with you!
You sure travel a lot!
Oh my! Glad I don’t fly much—ok, almost never!
That would totally freak me out. I hate dealing with the airport.
That’s really freaky! I’d be nervous until I got off the plane after that.
Holy that freaked me out too!
That is a bit scary! Eek!
Oh the hassles of flying. Ugh
Glad everything worked out well. Love that they don’t have to tell you anything, like flying can’t be nerve wracking enough!!!
Ugh, that must have been so hectic. Glad everything is ok though.
Oh my goodness! Travel these days!
Yikes! That would have put me on edge too! Glad it all worked out though 🙂
Talk about heeby-jeebies. that would have freaked me out too. I’m glad you were sent to another plane.
That’s rather terrifying…I haven’t flown in a long time, but that would have freaked me out.
Oh, that looks fun! NOT!
I would have been FREAKED out!
Kas
crazy! Glad you werent’ on that flight!
Crazy times, eh? The last time I flew, some whackadoodle ran through the security door at the gate AFTER it was closed, because she thought they would still let her on the plane. She set off all the alarms and TSA came running. This after I reported an unattended bag in the seating area that had been there for at least 30 minutes with no owner. Needless to say, when my flight was cancelled moments later and I was redirected to another gate, I was a bit keyed up!
Sorry you had to go through all that!
Sorry you had to go through that on top of your house burning down! When I lived in St. Louis, we would fly to Florida quite often. One time our full Southwest plane started to taxi out for take off. After taxi-ing for what seemed like an extra ordinary amount of time I looked out the window. We looked like we were a lot farther away than normal, but nothing was said to us, so I just kept looking at my magazine. After about another 10 minutes and no announcement from the crew, I looked out the window again. That is when I saw about 4 big black SUVs headed towards us. I looked out the other side of the plane and saw nothing. Just a field and trees. I thought oh no. I looke dout my window again and saw police cars, fire trucks and ambulances headed towards us. That is when the flight crew came on and told us that someone had found the words, “There is a bomb on this plane” written in the Southwest magazine. No one screamed, no one freaked out, no one did anything, except for what we were asked to do, sit still and stay clam. I think it was too early in the moning for anyone to react. A person came on dressed in a full silver hazmat suit complete with head covering! We were told that the magazine had been there for at least 3 weeks because they are onlt changed out periodically. They didn’t know how long the writing could’ve been there, but they had to take every precaution possible. We were asked to grab out item and deboard the plane one by one. As we left the plane, there was a bus we would board to go to an empty terminal. The walk from the plane to the bus was lined with agents and we were required to have out items sniffed by a bomb sniffing dog in our presence. When we got to the empty terminal, they turned on the tv, I guess to keep us entertained, and we could see the news covering the story about our flight! I still can’t believe how calm everyone was. I think we were all greatful that the right thing was done, even if nothing was found. A few weeks later a letter came from Southwest, thanking us for our understanding and it included a free round trip tiicket for each pssenger.
