Take A Moment This Holiday Season…

Do you have a family member or friend that has recently lost a spouse? A child? A dear friend? If so make sure to take a moment to be there for them this holiday season. Maybe you know a family that is financially struggling to live daily life and they have no clue how to give their children a good Christmas this year. No matter what the cause many people who aren’t normally depressed become depressed this time of year. Many adults find comfort in pushing away their family and finding other ways of dealing. Many of which result in even worse decisions. There is nothing fun about spending your holiday season sitting on a barstool drinking your sorrows away.

If this holiday season is a good one for you take a moment to spend some extra time with your loved ones, purchase a great gift that you can donate and give to a great charity, or simply volunteer your time in a local shelter or soup kitchen. This year I will be donating toys to local children in our area hoping to make a difference to one local family. We lost a loved one this holiday season and are already seeing their significant other pulling back and will be bringing the kids by more then normal to remind them of the love that surrounds them .

What are you doing to help others around you this holiday season?

  1. Thank you for the reminder! It’s so easy to get caught up in the busy-ness of the holiday season and forget about those who are struggling just to make it through emotionally and financially. I’m going to do my best to find a way to help this year 🙂

I just moved to a new area and am looking for a place to donate food and toys. Deciding on separating from a bad marriage years ago, left me alone with my boys and fianacially as well. I depended a lot on charities that helped feed us and helped make the Christmas brighter for the boys. It really made a difference for me, knowing that I wasn’t alone and that somebody cared for me and my boys. YES, EVERYONE, HELP IS SOME WAY…..IT REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE!
