Beauty and the Beast is one of Disney’s legendary movies in my mind. I watched this movie so many times when I was younger that I could speak line for line on cut from start to finish? Belle is one of the prettiest princesses in my opinion too! If I was a little girl she would definitely be the first princess I’d chose to be at Halloween.
Synopsis:Set in and around a quaint French village during the late 18th century, Beauty and the Beast follows the fantastic adventures of Belle, a bright and beautiful young woman who finds escape from her ordinary life, and the advances of a boorish suitor, Gaston, by reading books. Meanwhile, off in a castle in the distance, a cruel young prince is cast under the spell of an enchantress who turns him into a tormented beast, while transforming his servants into animated household objects. In order to remove the curse, the Beast must discover a true love who will return his affection before the last petal falls from an enchanted rose. When Belle’s inventor father stumbles upon the Beast’s castle and is taken prisoner, Belle comes to the rescue and agrees to take her father’s place. With the help of the castle’s enchanted staff, she sees beneath the Beast’s exterior and discovers the heart and soul of a human prince.
My boys have yet to see this movie and it was so good to watch such a classic with them! To me this movie isn’t great because or Belle and the Beast but because of all the characters together. How can you not just love Lumiere and Maurice and the rest of the gang. From the moment her dresser starts talking you look forward to meeting the rest of the characters. At the end you love seeing how the items they were resembles who they are in life.
Of course the story of Belle and the Beast is a great story as well. It teaches our children such a great story of kindness and love. My kids absolutely loved hot the beast had to learn his manners all over again. The scene at the table just completely made Gavin giggle. This movie isn’t just a “girl” movie if you have boys you’re children will enjoy this movies as much as your girls! Gavin has watched this movie over and over again since we got this. He loves all the songs and I have even caught him singing “be our guest, be our guest” outside playing!
As of today you can now find Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition in a Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack in stores! I found it for $24.99 at Walmart, Target, and Amazon.
