$5 A DAY on Blu Ray & DVD!

Are we always ready to pay for the things we need the most? On August 24, Image Entertainment presents $5 A Day, a story of a father and son struggling with the cost of rebuilding their relationship. Directed by Nigel Cole (Sundance Festival winner, Saving Grace) and featuring an award-winning cast, $5 A Day is an exuberant comedy – a joyous tour of the heart. Available at an SRP of $27.98 for the DVD and $29.98 for the Blu-ray, the film will also be available via digital download. Pre-book is July 27th.

Nat (Christopher Walken, Oscar® winner, The Deer Hunter) is an eccentric conman – a hustler content with a life of schemes and underhanded deals. He lacks one thing: a reconciliation with his son, Flynn (Alessandro Nivola, Jurassic Park III), who has ceased trusting his father long ago. But Nat’s time is growing short: he has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. True to form, Nat cons Flynn into joining him in a cross country journey to an experimental medical facility. Short on money, but not on imagination, the two realize that to reach their destination they can spend no more than $5 A Day. They come up with increasingly ridiculous schemes to keep within their budget – but there is a distance of emotion as well as miles to cover. Are they on the path towards a father-son reunion?

I have to admit from the cover of this DVD I was expecting something like Driving Miss Daisy. I skipped past the email and never read what it was about. The cover didn’t grab me. When it arrived in the mail I realized I was going to have to watch it.
I am so glad they did. This is definitely one of those movies I want to tell you not to judge the movie by its cover! It is super funny and has a great story line behind it about the struggles behind a father and a son and the things we do for love.
A father and son who haven’t spoken in years are pulled together when the son’s life begins to unravel. His love life is over and he just lost his job when he finds out his father is dying and needs to get across the country to receive treatment. Against his better judgement he goes along with his father as he learns the ways his fathers con jobs get him through life without spending more then $5 a day! Through this journey begins the rebuilding of a relationship- one that is more then you could ever image. Through the obstacles they go through the son learns so much about his father that he never knew.
The DVD has a running time of 98 minutes and contains special features such as director and cast interviews, trailer, and still galleries.
This DVD & Blue Ray Combo is available for purchase in stores now! The cheapest I was able to find it was for $12.99 through Target.com and $14.99 through Amazon.com!
