The Last Song DVD Review

Yesterday, August 17, 2010, was the release of The Last Song. I’m not much of a theater girl so I was eagerly awaiting this release! When I found out I had the opportunity to review it I was ecstatic. See I love Nicholas Sparks. I’ve been reading his books and they always touch my life in one way or another. This book, The Last Song, is my favorite book that I’ve read. Ever. It is also the only book that has made me cry harder then I have ever cried from a book before.

I was concerned though that the movie could never live up to those expectations. In my opinion the movie almost carries a slightly different story. Many things are completely different- and of course left out. I think the changes made keep this movie able to be separate from the book. I really enjoyed the movie and thought they did a great job. It was still of course a tear jerker but no where near as bad as the book.

Miley Cyrus did an excellent acting job portraying the part of Ronnie who is from NYC and is just plain mad at the world. Now that she’s being sent off to her father – that she hasn’t spoken to in three years – in a small Carolina town she is anything but pleased.
This movie will share with you her journey to rebuilding her relationship with her Dad and her venture into first love.
