Guidecraft started in 1964 in a small workshop producing only 10 items. Then in 1995 his son, Jason Fein, purchased the company and took it to a whole new level. Jason took the line to the next step and they now include over 580 educational toys and furnishings.
When we took the pieces out of the box we were pleased to see there were only a few pieces involved in putting the Canvas Book Display together. Not only is it a great piece of classroom furniture but it makes a great piece of bedroom furniture or playroom furniture as well!
It was so easy in fact my 9 year old put it together!Simply start with the wooden base. It comes with everything you need to put it together.
One thing you want to pay attention to is the material when you’re putting it together. Even though you can easily see the seam my son still put it together backwards.
It was super easy to take apart though it put it together the right way. 
It is one continuous piece of fabric so you don’t have to worry about your kid messing with it. All the materials used are quality pieces! None of the hardware broke and I believe it will last for years to come.
Originally we had planned on putting all of Gavin’s books in it. However since we couldn’t put it directly up against the wall due to the window sill the books kept falling forward. I do wish that it had a back to it to help support the weight of the books and keep them upright.
From the second I put the Canvas Book Display in Gavin’s room he was begging me to put all of his DVD’s into it since he struggled seeing them in his drawer. As you can see they work perfectly in it! Had we been able to move it up against a wall it would have been great for books but he has so much stuff in his room his wall space is limited.
As you can see it looks great in the overall look of his room too! I’m really glad I picked the Canvas book Display from Guidecraft as it is a quality made piece of furniture that will probably outlast his use being able to be passed on.
