Random Tuesday Thoughts – Relationships

I have two really close friends that I trust completely.
Kelly. My best friend for about the last 7 years. In high school we hated each other. passionately. When I was in college a friend of mine who was also her friend forced us to hang out. We ‘ve been friends since. We do many things together. She helps me with fun outings with the boys when John can’t make it. Never misses a family event. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding. Funny thing is she has no kids and she has such a great relationship with my boys.Carol. Met her in Nursing school. We were both young. Both with a small child. We got along great and it was perfect since her daughter was my sons age. She lived 10 minutes from my apartment when I lived on my own as a single mom. She kept me company through some crazy times. She’s would do absolutely anything for a friend. When I was preggers with Gavin, she was preggers with her son. She was also one of my bridesmaids.
Friday Carol called and told me she’s pregnant again.
Saturday Kelly called- she’s engaged!
Talk about some excitement this past weekend!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day. We ended up picking out our patio set. It wasn’t my gift or anything. Just a planned family purchase. We finally finished our cement patio and finally have somewhere for us to eat outside again! Now, if the weather would just warm up. I couldn’t even stand outside while the boys built it. Since we’ve been back we’ve lost our electricity daily. The wind storms have been insane. Huge trees have been falling everywhere. A neighbor a couple streets down had a tree take out a part of their home. Our nights our still in the 20’s! How I miss the FL sun!
I also saw something similar to these that I now want for our porch once the railings are done!
I bought myself a Mother’s Day gift last week. I knew I wasn’t getting one from Hubby. He won’t do anything special sadly. As he like to point out…I’m not his mother! So we spend most of the day with her. That’s an entirely other topic. A lot of the reason I’m not a fan of the holiday. My boys, however, make it special with their cute handmade gifts from school.

So, what did I get myself?
My first Coach Purse.

Before I blogged I would have laughed if you told me I was going to buy my own Coach Purse one day. I would have laughed harder to know I bought it from the Coach store itself. I was never a fan of “accessories”. I’ve changed quite a bit in the shoes and purses category. I’ve learned a lot that sometimes spending more does mean getting more. 2 years ago I never would have spent more then $20 on a purse and generally I bought them at Target.

No more! I am addicted to beautiful purses.

I am so stinkin’ excited. My summer hours are coming in just a couple weeks! Once the boys are out of school I go down to only 2 days a week. I am so flippin’ excited. I am hoping to be able to be so much more productive in my site. Better, more quality posts. Less, but better, giveaways. More fun with the boys and fun stories to share!
