Getting Back To The Grind…

How do you get back into the swing of things when you get back from vacation? I’ve slowly began attacking the massive piles of laundry that have built up from all of us.
~
Hubby and I had a great vacation just the two of us down in Naples, FL.
I noticed though that when you leave the kids at home the camera rarely comes out. I don’t have very many photos from the week at all.
I took a pic of the first restaurant we stopped at. We ate off the deck that sits over the water.
We also went back to the Cheesecake Factory in Naples. The last time I went the service was probably the worst I had ever experienced. I actually blogged about it and one of my readers forwarded my post to their customer service and they reached out. While I had sworn I’d never go back they sent us some gift cards to get us to go back. Thankfully we did because the food was amazing. I got their Pork Chops with mashed potatoes and green beans. Every bite was amazingly good, although hubby stole most of my potatoes lol.
Can you believe that once again we didn’t get their cheesecake? We were so stuffed that there wasn’t a chance we could even share one. We kept meaning to go back but never managed to get there again. Someday…Looks good huh?
My favorite part about Florida vacations are walking Florida beaches. Hubby is a good sport as I can walk for miles. Sadly on the last day there we got fried. I don’t mean any other sun burn either. I am fair skinned so I have had my fair share of burns (like all summer, every summer), but this is bad. I still cringe at every touch. Wearing a bra is horrible. I want to cry just from breathing. My portuguese hubby who has never burned a day in his life is red as a lobster.
You should have seen us the night it happened. We were miserable, rubbing each other down with aloe and trying not to laugh because it hurt. Somehow we couldn’t keep from laughing and I don’t know if in the end the tears were from pain or laughing.

So while normally I never miss a beat on my blog I just want to apologize for the lack of writing this week. Next week will definitely be back to routine but between the laundry, missing the kids, being back to work, and this sunburn I’m dragging my feet.Hubby also likes the fact a laptop wasn’t attached to my body for one and I’d like to find a way to make that more possible. It was so nice to get some time alone just the two of us. It gave us a moment to stop and acknowledge each other. I want to keep that so I have to figure out how to give up the 3 am posting lol.
