I love my craft room. It’s the only room in the house that is completely mine. I only just recently was able to have a craft room when we built the addition onto our home after the fire and had a bedroom left over on the first floor. We didn’t want to put the kids in it so we finally agreed it could be my very own craft room. Up until I started blogging I was very much into Scrapbooking. I even ran an Etsy store for wedding stationary that was fairly profitable. The past couple of weeks I have been in there organizing and cleaning up trying to find a way to make it most functional to begin my paper crafts once again.
Regardless of what your craft is being able to organize all your tools and supplies properly is the key to getting the most use out of your room. Since I jump head first into any hobby of mine I needed lots of storage. We went for cabinets and counter tops to use and store all my stuff in. When browsing through CSN I was surprised at the low prices of the bathroom vanities (above) that could easily be pulled off in many more rooms in the house at low cost! Plus, since these fixtures don’t have to be installed onto your walls you can move them around and not worry about the damage they’d leave behind unlike me.
One thing I struggle with on a regular basis is paper storage. I want it to all be easily seen so I don’t waste time rummaging through it all but I don’t like the cheap plastic option out there! This stunning wood one would look great in my craft room!Since I have a rather large craft room I would also love the child resource center below to be able to stick all my paper and tools into. I’ve learned that you can save a lot of money by checking out other departments to save money on quality furniture pieces!
One craft that I’ve never gotten the chance to learn is sewing! I know many woman who make the most amazing pieces and I’m always very jealous of their talent. A few years back I was debating about purchasing sewing machines and I even did some research on it and found the the Brother brand of sewing machines was a great investment and known for their quality!
