UV Skinz – UV Sun Protection Clothing for Baby, Kids, & Adults! Review & Giveaway!

Sun protection is so important. As Mom’s it is our responsibility to make sure our little ones are properly protected from the sun. So when it comes to sun protective swimwear it’s only natural that I look to UV Skinz. Rhonda the person behind UV Skinz lost her husband Darren to malignant melanoma in 2001. From then on she made it her personal goal to do whatever she could to make sure people knew about protecting themselves from harmful UV Rays the sun puts off. If she can get enough public awareness out then maybe she can help save a family from going through what hers endured.
UV Skinz sun protective swimshirts are stylish and carry a UPF rating of 50+, which blocks out over 98% of the sun’s harmful rays, protecting delicate skin from damaging sunburns. Sunscreen isn’t always enough, is often not used correctly and some folks have skin allergies or sensitivities to chemicals that sunscreens can contain. UV Skinz are sun shirts that are not made with any chemicals or lotions. The UV protection is in the tight weave of the fabric. Wearing UV protective clothing, such as our fun, cool UV Skinz sun protective swim shirts, is an important step in preventing sunburns, premature aging of the skin and skin cancer.
Gavin is extremely sensitive skin. He burns with an 70 block so making sure he gets the best possible coverage is my ultimate goal. Above is a shot of Gavin in a shirt we used all last summer. It was my first summer with sun protective shirts for him. I tested out several brands and UV Skinz was the only brand that didn’t leave a rash behind after he wore it.
Even though Johnny is dark and goes straight to a tan I still know its important to protect him. Even though it is unlikely for him to get a sun burn it doesn’t mean the sun still can’t cause harmful side effects to him later on in life.
This year I have more awareness of the dangers in UV Rays thanks to sites such as UV Skinz. With this I also stepped up the protection and upgraded their short sleeve shirts to long sleeve shirts. I thought they’d be bothered by the shirts but instead they played happily and didn’t even notice.
