I have been a Hana fan for quite some time now. I can’t remember not using a flat iron in the morning to get ready. It goes everywhere I go. So when I recently had the chance to review the Hana 1.5″ Pink Edition Professional Flat Iron I was thrilled.

Now, as I told you I was already a fan of the Hana Flat Irons but like many we look at pricing when we make our purchasing. I had heard great things about these irons and all they could do but with the price difference I went with the Professional One Inch. I hadn’t heard of Misikko at the time and I was looking at a difference much more then $20 at the time.

Since I had both of them I wanted to show and compare the two of them for you. Now I use my flat irons to do much more then straighten my hair. Since I’ve been using it for a long time I’ve also learned to curl my hair with them. The flat iron is a very versatile tool once you get comfortable with them and learn how to use them. Below you can see that the half inch difference can cover a large area faster.

Both these flat irons function in the same manner as other then their size and color they are the same tool. They simply plug into the wall. Flick the switch and choose your setting. When its on there will be a red light present so you know its working. The heat setting can range from 140-450 degrees. I have super thick hair so I tend to keep mine on a higher setting. I generally plug it in when I start to blow dry my hair. I don’t always fully dry it but its always hot and ready for me when I need it.

While it heats up I set it on the Heat Proof Silicon Mat it comes with. I also rest my hair dryer on it. Since I get ready in my bedroom this also helps protect my nice wooden dresser. I also like that it has a 8 ft salon swivel cord. This helps it not only reach my dresser but also move around easily while styling my hair.

Most people assume that by using a flat iron you are left with poker straight hair. I wanted to show you how I perfectly curl my hair under with my Hana 1.5″ Pink Edition Professional Flat Iron. I recently swapped hair dryers with my mom and I get frustrated with how long it takes to dry my hair. Again the result of a cheap dryer. I try and dry it under with the brush but as you can see it doesn’t leave my hair in a very flattering way.

Yet when I’m finished with my Hana I have styled hair that falls perfectly. I’m left with smooth soft hair that I’m completely happy with. As you know I cut my hair in the fall and had long hair that fell down to my waist. This was great with my long hair as well. I’ve also used my Hana 1.5″ Pink Edition Professional Flat Iron on my damp hair without blow drying and still comes out soft and styled.
I am not a big “products” person. I rarely ever reach for hair spray. I do however use the the Hana ShineShield! I was thrilled when they sent me the large 6 oz size as I was purchasing the 2 oz size. Even worse I was paying the same for the small bottle as they sell the large one for! They offer the Hana ShineShield for a much discounted rate (as they do with all their products) then leading salon rates! I love the shine that this gives my hair when I’m done using my iron. Now normally when product states use a small amount I dump my hand full as I have super thick hair. ONLY use a small amount. If you go over board you’ll be left with greasy looking hair. It can also be used as a leave-in conditioner so it will leave your hair the same way over using one of those would. Once you get the amount right you’ll never use your iron without it. It will give you a perfect shine you won’t be able to get from anything else! I also want to tell you about the Hana Styling Iron Cleaner. If you use a lot of styling products in your morning routine I suggest you grab this too so that your flat iron is always at its best!

I love my Hana Flat Irons. I can’t imagine having to get ready without them. I always get compliments on my hair and I know its due to my iron! I love the Hana 1.5″ Pink Edition Professional Flat Iron and I can get my hair done much faster with this one then my one inch. My one inch can give a sharper curl and works better with my bangs. Yes, you heard me I use it to curl under my bangs! I think both these irons are worth every penny! If mine was to break I’d be lost. However I’ve never had any issues with either.

Please Note:

• LED indicator light remains steady when iron is heating up and will blink when desired temperature is reached. If the light is off but the switch is set to On, the iron is decreasing temperature to a lower setting.
