Bloggers & Contests….Is it fair?

So, I have to ask your opinion on something and I’d love to hear how you truly feel about it.
As many of you know I have been trying like crazy for baby #3 and I also lost all of my boys baby stuff when we lost our home in a fire. Now around where I live you don’t get additional baby showers or welcome baby showers after your first child is born. Gavin came almost 6 years after Johnny and I didn’t receive any kind of baby gift party when he was born. Don’t get me wrong I was given a few outfits and my mom got me the playpen I really wanted that was about it.

I have been trying to put aside many things that have worked well for me in the past aside though blogging for this next baby since I will have to purchase everything for this next baby. I don’t even have a crib!
Now, just because I am a review blogger and I work with lots of product it doesn’t give me any guarantees with companies. I can’t get whatever I want and I can’t get everything I need. So to make up for it I have been trying to enter contest for many of the things I need. If I was able to review the product I wouldn’t try and win it.
I made a facebook comment in regards to hoping to win one of the 14 giveaways out there for the Bright Starts Baby Gear going on right now and shortly after I received an email from an unknown email. It read:

“I really don’t think its fair that you enter contests when you can easily blog things. you should step aside and let regular people win these contests. I would hope that other bloggers wouldn’t chose you if you were to win.”

I didn’t know what to think of it. First off I am a regular person…aren’t I? I also wouldn’t disqualify a winner just because she/he was a blogger. We put in hours of work constantly for the product we review. I think it would be nice to once get something in the mail that I didn’t have to post about. Not to mention all the work it takes to enter them.
Then I got thinking. I’ve been entering contests for a year now and I’ve only won two.
I’ve seen many bloggers I would consider my equal entering the same contests I’m entering. I’m also seeing some of them win some too. I’ve also entered contests religiously on two blogs and I’ve never won. I wonder now if maybe its because I’m a blogger.

SO….

I have some questions for you and I’d love your honest opinion.

1. Do you think its okay for a review blogger to win a contest?
2. Do you think we should be disqualified?
3. If you’re a blogger-
Would you chose another blogger to win your contest?
4. Do you ever get frustrated from never winning on select blogs?
