Aloha Friday – How old is too old?

If you’ve never heard of it, it started over on An Island Life.

I ask a question….I answer it….and then you answer it too!
Sound like fun?

So, for this week’s question:

Q: When you see a child with a pacifier or bottle what age is it that in the back of your head you say “That child is way too old for that”!

A: I ask because when I was sitting in the airport to come back home I was next to a set of mom’s that had 2 kids with them. One was 3ish (bigger then my 3 year old) and the other was 5ish. The younger one had a bottle of what looked like soda and they both had binky’s in their mouths. (I also know this can help with the air pressure on the plane) I’m sorry I’m just one of those mom’s that thinks the bottle should be tossed around 12 months when you stop using breast milk or formula. (I have no comments on when to stop breast feeding as I do not want it to offend anyone, using 1 year as a general time frame used). It just seems to make the transition easier.

I just think that even a 3 or 5 year old is WAY to old for either of these items. Both my kids kicked the bottle at their first birthday’s and the binky’s on their second birthdays. Don’t get me started on what I think about SODA in a BOTTLE?

I’d love to know your opinion. How old were your children? Was it easy? Was it hard? I know my kids switched easily so that made it easier on myself. Had they fought it I know I may be saying something completely different here and eating my own words LOL!
