As most of you know before I had my last child I spent my working hours in the Emergency Room. I spent my days regularly helping patients with broken bones, heart attacks, and so much more. It was rare that I left a shift without performing CPR on someone as well. However, 3 years later and I can’t tell you the proper way to do CPR on a person without double checking it first. Sure I remember the pattern of it all and I remember the feeling of breaking a rib under my hands but the compression counts, the number of breathes….they change for infants, children, and adults!
Thanks to this Talking First Aid Kit I can grab my phone call 9-1-1, grab my kit, and pull out the Breathing & CPR Card. I can then see that for an adult it is 30 compressions at a rate of 100 per minute. It also shows me pictures of where to place my hands and how to cup them together in case I hadn’t known. It also tells me to give 2 breaths. Now obviously I wouldn’t want to sit there reading a card nor would I have the capability to if my husband or child were laying there completely unresponsive. That’s the extra benefit to this kit. Just pull out the card, flick on the switch and let it calmly talk you through it. None of the cards are longer then 2 minutes because they know you won’t want to spend the time!

I personally have never seen such a well put together first aid kit! I am glad to know that I have one of these in my home and that I can calmly help my family under most circumstances. Especially since Emergency Personnel can often take 15 minutes or more! You can say there would never be a need for something this extravagant in your home but in 2007 I lost my home to a fire AND my husband broke his femur all in a 6 month period. So never say never!
My new motto is you can never be too prepared!
- 6 Gauze Sponges
- 1 Rolled Bandage
- 1 Large Dressing
- 1 Roll Tape
- 1 Pair Disposable Latex Free Gloves
You should definitely check out this video that will show you exactly how the kit works.
The people at Intelligent First Aid want you to be prepared as well and have offered one of my lucky reader a kit for themselves!
