Planning for a Trip To Walt Dinsey World!!!!! I need your help!

I need your help!
My awesome in laws decided that they want to take the family to Disney world in just a couple of months! They rock, don’t they? I’m so excited….I think I jumped up and down more then my 8 year old did LOL!

Anyways there are so many things to do and I would love to know your thoughts on planning a trip to Disney in Orlando FL with a 2 year old and 8 year old boy. One thing I really want to do is character breakfast but all I can seem to find is Cinderella’s Breakfast. My boys would love to see the basic characters like Mickey Mouse plus all the others too…Gavin is Mickey Mouse obsessed and we will actually be having his Mickey Mouse Birthday shortly after we come back.

So any tips on flying, traveling, or the actual parks would greatly be appreciated!

(ps. don’t forget tomorrow is my birthday and I’ll be posting giveaways ALL DAY LONG)

Rent a stroller! And buy the 2 y/o a harness, it gets so busy there and they can run off so fast. We are going next weekend, I may have more pointers after that!

You want to do the Chef Mickey's Character Dining. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdwi/en_CA/dining/diningDetail?id=ChefMickeysCharacterDiningPage&bhcp=1

We went several years back with our neice and nephew and it was awesome. Well worth the money.

Happy early Birthday, first of all! ๐Ÿ™‚

Disney is so fun. You’ll all have a blast. I’ve also heard good things about Chef Mickey’s for breakfast. All the classic characters (Mickey, Pluto, etc) do that one. Oh gosh! I’m so jealous! LOL You’re going to have a great time!

If you can convince them to buy you the platinum dining package with your hotel and park tickets.. that would ROCK for you guys! It saves you $$ in the long run too!

Animal Kingdom is a MUST as is Magic Kingdom (for the little ones these two are perfect)

I dont use the disney transportation.. Because, if the kids want/need to go back to the hotel you dont want to wait on the busses.. you just wanna go. Parking is FREE in the parks if you are staying in the Disney Resorts (FYI)

In downtown disney They have LEGO LAND (where the kids can play with TONS of legos.. and it is free to play!)

They also have disney babysitters (can come to your room or you can go to the child care centers in some of the resprts) so, you and dad can have a dinner out with each other and no kids .. (If you get the platimun package you and dad should go to Victoria and Alberts for dinner, it is covered in the platinum package dining plan!!)

There is a lot more.. I love disney! The hubby and I just went back in Feb for our honeymoon!!! =-)

I also recommend getting a package with a dining plan. It’s so much easier than carrying around money!

  8. Marin says

Another character dining option is Crystal Palace, with the Winnie The Pooh characters. We chose that for our 1 and 2 year olds because we figured they’d be less scared by those characters.

The rental strollers are super uncomfortable looking. We brought our own and are SO glad we did.

We did Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom with our kids. I think the boys might have liked Animal Kingdom better even? Certainly it was a good choice for boys.

Okay, don’t laugh. You can make up doggy tags at most pet stores with your name and cell phone. You can attach them to the kid’s shoes in case they get lost.

We are planning our first Disney trip with our in-laws and 6-year-old twins in September. I’ve been researching my butt off!

You guys rock! Thanks for all the info! Please keep it coming if you have more to say!

๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ll be saving some of my safetytat’s for Disney! That’s for sure!

  14. Amy and her little family says

Just make sure you get one of those line passes! I mean yeah they cost money, but with kids they’re worth every penny!!

    I’m jealous!
I hope you enjoy the trip!
